Meeting the changing needs of

Europe’s pharmaceutical

manufacturers When it comes to the distribution of pharmaceutical and biotech products within Europe, few would disagree that the landscape has changed significantly. Direct-to-Pharmacy developments in the UK and other countries, along with new products that have differing and more challenging transportation characteristics, has promoted the need for the logistics industry to ‘step up’ and provide a more diversified range of services.

Althoughthedistributionandlogisticsrequirementsofthepharmaceuticalindustrycontinuetochangewiththedevelopmentofnewandmorevaluableproducts,theneedforend-to-endtemperatureassuranceremainsparamount.Manypharmaceuticalproductsrequirestoragewithindefinedtemperatureorhumidityranges,asdictatedbystabilitystudies,andthereisincreasingfocusbyregulatorsuponthe15-250Crangeinadditiontothe2-80Crefrigeratedband-widththatquality-focusedlogisticsproviderslikeWallenbornhavebecomecompetentinproviding.
