Suspension and drive configuration

Anyone can arrive. The trick is to keep going. Whether you’re involved in inner city distribution operations or have to travel country-wide – with a choice of three drive variants the new Vito is the first van in its class to be so individually tailored to your needs, from front- and rear-wheel drive to the all-wheel-drive variant.1 With electrome-chan ical power steering as standard and the optional 7-speed automatic trans mission 7G-TRONIC PLUS2, the result is efficiency, smooth performance and ride comfort on a par with a passenger car.

The standard 6-speed manual transmission is also designed to ensure an optimum balance between performance and consumption. Whichever drive variant you choose, with its comfortable chassis set-up and independent suspension the new Vito will keep you going where others can’t.

With its fuel-efficient engines and innovative BlueEFFICIENCY technologies the new Vito achieves outstanding emissions figures, smoothing your way to a successful future in economic terms too. Thanks to a combination of ongoing technical development and additional consumption-reducing measures, we have managed to reduce fuel consump-tion by an average of 20%. At fuel consumption from as low as 5.7 l per 100 km1 and with service intervals of up to 40,000 km, this is the most sustainable Vito of all time.

The new Vito shows the way: with its pioneering safety systems it not only enhances safety for you, your passengers and your cargo but, thanks to standard features such as Crosswind Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST and the latest generation of the ADAPTIVE ESP® electronic stability programme, for other road users too. Unique in its class: optional COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, which constantly monitors the distance between your van and the vehicle in front and outputs an audible and visible warning if there is a risk of a collision. As usual, Mercedes-Benz also sets a good example when it comes to protecting all of the vehicle occupants – with to up to six airbags1, including optional windowbags and thorax/pelvis sidebags for the driver and co-driver.

Another innovation comes in the form of the QR code rescue sticker on the B-pillar. Rescuers can obtain the vehicle-specific rescue card directly by scanning this sticker.

The new Vito offers all the space you need – and more. The figures: up to 120 kg1 more payload than the previous model series, spread over a loading length of up to 3 m.2 And with a maximum payload capacity of 1369 kg, it leads the way in the 3.2 t vehicle cate-gory. But that’s not all – with three vehicle lengths, two wheelbases, a flexible load- securing system and practical partition walls, there are plenty of choices when it comes to adding individual and specialist features to your professional transport solution.

After all, no two jobs are the same. Especially if you have to transport people as well as cargo. That’s where the new Vito Mixto is the perfect choice. Partially glazed, with comfortable access and adaptable seating for up to six, it combines functionality and comfort. And, if required, you can remove the rear seat bench in a few simple steps.

Incidentally: with its large door openings and a low load compartment sill, the new Vito makes child’s play of the most demanding jobs – for even more comfort, efficiency and safety when loading and unloading.

A load capacity that holds weight: the new Vito panel van.

The Vito panel van takes plenty in its stride. Designed as a professional vehicle for demand-ing jobs, it is ideally suited to represent your enterprise. Its speciality is its impressive load capacity, which just seems to keep on stowing where others come unstuck.

With a load compartment length of up to 3061 mm and a maximum load compartment volume of 6.9 m3 the Vito panel van holds up to 1064 kg in its load compartment or, with uprating to a permissible gross vehicle weight of 3.2 t, as much as 1369 kg (with rear-wheel drive). But size isn’t everything: the Vito panel van’s generous door openings and low load compartment sill mean that it is very easy to load.

With the optional sliding door on the left, you have three access points which can be used to load, for example, up to three Euro pallets. The load-securing rails on the floor of the load compartment and the lashing rails on the side wall offer flexible and safe options when it comes to securing your cargo.

Room for everyone: the new Vito Mixto.

Load compartment | Mixto

The Vito Mixto makes life easy for you: it was designed with the motto “one for all” in mind and is equally impressive whether used as a crewbus or a panel van. If you have to transport people and cargo at the same time, the Vito Mixto is an economical, versatile and reliable professional.

Optionally equipped with a twin co-driver’s seat and with a 3-seater bench seat in the pas-senger compartment, it will carry up to six people to your work site. The side windows add light and visibility to the passenger compartment, and an air vent in the footwell helps reg-ulate the temperature, ensuring that the passengers in the second row have a comfortable journey.

There is still plenty of space for materials and equipment behind the bench seat – space you can make impressive use of, thanks to the high payload. Depending on the vehicle length, the load area measures up to 2.63 m2 and holds up to 4.1 m3. As an option a partition wall with window at the C-pillar stops dirt and dust from the load compartment getting into the passenger compartment and offers additional protection from the cargo.

26 Engines and drive system

A van for today. With the drive system of tomorrow.

The two 4-cylinder diesel engines with common-rail direct injection and turbo-charging form the basis for the Vito’s economical and sustainable operations. The 1598 cc engine is available in two output ratings and the 2143 cc in three. De-pending on the engine, you can choose between front-wheel, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive1. In conjunction with the optional BlueEFFICIENCY package, the 120 kW variant offers a potential consumption figure of 5.7 l/100 km2.

The most powerful engine (140 kW) consumes around 2.5 litres per 100 km less than a comparable engine in the previous model series while delivering the same torque. Thanks to BlueTEC technology it also complies with the stringent Euro 6 emissions standard. With the aid of selective catalytic reduction, harmful nitrous oxides in the exhaust gas are converted into water and nitrogen.

High-standing bracket set. A quick and easy way of preventing all types of cargo mounted on the basic carrier bars from shifting sideways.

All-season mats. Robust, dirt-repellent natural rubber – precision-tailored to the geometric dimensions of your Vito. Zip fasteners seamlessly join corresponding mat sections.

Standard basic carrier bars, loading roller. Screw-fit to designated points in roof channel. Up to a max. roof load of 100 kg. The hard rubber loading roller allows you to slide unwieldy items onto the carrier bars with ease – and without causing any scratches.

Shallow load compartment tub1. Protects the load compartment from dirt and scratches. Made from ro-bust, lightweight plastic. Deep variant also available.

Mercedes-Benz CharterWay offers you tailored, integrated solutions for vehicle procurement and assured mobility as well as relief from the burden of vehicle administration – and it does this professionally as the service provider with the longest track record in the market.

CharterWay Service. Acquire the appropriate level of cover to meet your needs. This product line combines maintenance and repair activities in separate service packages. The level of service provided ranges from a simple warranty extension to coverage of all prescribed maintenance work or complete cover including wear and tear repairs.
