THE NEW LOW VOLUME MACH1 LV BRINGS ON-PISTE DRIVE PRECISION TO ITS BEST T-DRIVE AND CUSTOM ADAPTIVE SHAPE ARE THE PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES ON WHICH THE NEW MACH1 LV (LOW VOLUME) IS ENGINEERED, TO OFFER THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PRECISION AND EDGE CONTROL FOR EXACTING PISTE SKIERS.

For the winter 2021/22 season, Tecnica is introducing the third generation of its Mach1 which already hit the slopes in winter 2020-21. Despite the shortened skiing season last winter, it proved an immediate success amongst technical on-piste skiers.

“The secret behind the Mach1 is that we developed it with a clear vision of what high performance on-piste skiers expect”, explains Matteo Murer, Product Manager Tecnica Ski Boots. “First you can actually feel the power, precision and edge grip the Mach1 delivers. This is coupled with a great out-of-the-box fit that you can customize for an even higher level of comfort.”

The new Mach1 LV is built on a 98 mm last (compared to 100 mm for the MV – Mid Volume – and 103 mm for the HV – High Volume) and is available in 130, 120 and 110 flex options. Low Volume versions have also been added to the Mach1 range for women. The Mach1 LV W is available in a 115 (Pro), 110 and 105 flex option.

“The new Low Volume version of the Mach1 is by no means just a smaller version of the Mach1 MV. We are on the slopes every day, side by side with our most exacting, high-performance athletes and users. Although the Low Volume model is needed for fit reasons, it is also the top performance choice for on-piste skiers looking for the highest degree of edge control and precision,” continues Matteo Murer. “That’s why the Mach1 has been re-engineered in order to offer the Low Volume option.”

T-Drive: precision, performance and comfort

The T-Drive is Tecnica’s revolutionary design technology for improved performance and comfort. The dynamic shell-to-cuff carbon connector of the T-Drive creates a longer lever arm compared to traditional ski boots, resulting in a stronger and more effective connection between the cuff and the shell.

“Thanks to the T-Drive technology, the Mach1 is 10% faster than other boots, increases edge stability by 20% and lateral power by 25%. It means that the boot performs better with less effort,” Matteo Murer explains. “But the T-Drive brings benefits to comfort, too. It results in consistent flex regardless of temperatures, reducing material deformation by 10%, so that we can use a softer material for the shell and cuff. The boot wraps better around the foot and it’s easier to get on and off, but still maintains a consistent fit without compromising on performance.”

CAS: Perfect Individual Fit

The Mach1 incorporates Tecnica’s proven CAS - Custom Adaptive Shape fit system. The anatomical shape of the shell and liner match the natural shape of

the foot, offering superior out-of-the-box comfort.

But that wasn’t enough for the Tecnica designers. The dimples on the CAS Shell reduce surface tension and facilitate thermo customization, making it easier for boot fitters to fit. And the shell materials retain the customized shape better, for longer. In addition, the anatomically designed C.A.S. liner can be thermomoulded, punched and grinded for unmatched personal customization.

New for the Winter 21/22 season, the CAS fit system of the Mach1 now has a great new addition: The CAS Tongue can be thermoformed to perfectly match the shape of the skier’s shin, thereby preventing painful pressure points and increasing performance.

For the Winter 2021/22 season, the Mach 1 line-up features 13 different models for men, including the three new LV options (130, 120 and 110) and a new dark colour for the 120-flex model with GripWalk sole, and 8 models for women.
