re you an ambassador for Christ? An Ambassador is an official representative, the highest ranking diplomat, who represents a State and is usually deployed to another sovereign State (country). God called us to be Ambassadors of His Kingdom. We are here as His diplomats, repre- senting His laws and ways of doing things in heaven here on earth. In the nat- ural, someone becomes an ambassador by either working up the State Department ranks or as a political appointment usually based on that indi- vidual’s political contribution. In the spirit realm, we are appointed by our Lord Jesus Christ to represent Him here on earth. We do not earn it, we are appointed when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior of our life. You are saved to represent Jesus Christ. You should be speaking about His programs, His Kingdom and His way of life here in the world we live in. This means that we have dual citizenship. Our real home is in heaven and we have been tasked to share the goodness of God to a world that is not aware of God’s love and mercy. One of the roles of an Ambassador is to aid travelers and ensure the safety of visitors from their home nation. In addition, you have responsibility to support prosperity of your State by improving trade. We have been given the task of serving as Ambassadors to the world. Our primary job is to reconcile a lost world to a loving Savior with the message of good news also known as the Gospel, bringing man back to God. One of the benefits of being an ambassa- dor is having diplomatic immunity. Though the devil accuses us of our wrong doings, the blood of Jesus Christ and the mercy of God the Father declares us righteous. Remember, you ought to speak about His ways and His love. “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV). Paul was in prison when he said, “And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel. For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20 (KJV). Let me encourage you to make a dif- ference, bring someone to God. Invite someone to one of our church services. Be Christ’s Ambassador. New Beginnings

In T HIS ISSUE

Brother Derrick has always seemed to be a man consumed by his passion to serve. The list of projects he has handled and the number of ministries he has served in over the years at New Hope would exhaust the space of this article. Suffice it to say his

hands have touched every corner of the 1004 York Road building and “See Brother Derrick” has become a very common phrase around New Hope. Despite filling a very great need for the church, Bro Derrick was constantly looking for new ways to serve at a higher level. Then, about 5 years ago, the answer came in a dream. Bro Derrick saw himself drawn to the altar and Pastor Bonaparte then lead him to the visiting speaker. Pastor Bonaparte shared the same

vision for Bro Derrick and immediately started the process to help him realize that dream by handling all the necessary paperwork and even driving Bro Derrick to register for the ministry-train-ing program. Bro Derrick’s new project then was to study and even though he never let go of any of the other projects he did for the church, study he did. He studied so hard that when he faced his final exam and found the exam had been com-pletely changed, he was able to overcome that roadblock and successfully complete the program. Bro Derrick received his certificate and the new title “Minister” Derrick McKoy in March of 2013. Despite the change in title, many still refer to him as Bro Derrick because he just keeps on serving in all the ways he did previously and whenever anyone says “see Bro Derrick”.

A bit over 30 years ago, the life of Kingsley Wright took a sharp turn as he stood outside his church in Jamaica listening to a song of praise and worship emanating from within. He was overwhelmed by the beauty of a song and

he sang and cried and found himself being pulled back into the sanctuary. The Lord spoke to him at that moment and he made the

decision to dedicate his life to God’s work. He discussed this with his wife, Jennifer, and together they committed

that nothing should get in the way of following his calling. He immediately enrolled in the school of ministry and left his career as a teach-er. When Rev. Wright left Jamaica for the U.S., he tried a few churches before meet-ing Pastor Bonaparte. New Hope became his new spiri-tual home. His strong sense of organization, his teaching background and his love of beauty were quickly exposed. Rev. Wright saw the need

and imple-mented a system of mainte-nance to keep the church safe and

in compliance. If you come to the church during the week, you often found Rev. Wright here alone with a wrench in one hand and a paint brush

in the other. He believed that structure and beauty attracts people. He turned his attention to the outside of the church. Rev. Wright created a con-tinuously blooming garden to beautify the church perimeter. He positioned specific flowers and flowering shrubs to give blooms across the boundary of the parking lot from early spring to late fall. A walk along the rear of the parking lot will expose you to a wide variety of beautiful flowers and a pleasing collec-tion of fragrance. If you like the sight and smells of the garden, thank our own Rev. Wright.

“He has a wonderful gift of being able to break down complicated subjects into

easily understood language”.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT

The Men of New Hope adopted the phrase Reaching Up, Reaching In, and Reaching Out. Reaching up to worship, learn about, and serve God; reaching in to develop camaraderie, fellowship, team spirit discipleship within our group; reaching out by sharing what we learn together with brothers who are spiritually alone and lost. In John 13:35, Jesus said “ By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”. The Men have found it is so much easier to have love one for another when we take the time to know one another.

As many of you already know, Caleb and I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Russia this summer, July 6-17. We traveled all the way to the city of Novokuznetsk located in Siberia. After arriving, we had the opportunity to share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ with many people. We went door to door in several villages, to a children’s hospital, drug rehabs and parks. I had the opportunity to speak at a church ser-vice with the help of Julia, our interpreter. We had several challenges big and small BUT GOD got us through every problem and allowed us to be His hands and feet. We thank God for giving us the opportu-nity to go. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. It is not too late to give for this trip as there is still a balance of $1650. Contact me on (732) 666-1636 if you wish to assist.

Mission Tr ip to Russia

ew Hope Church of God started as a church with only a handful of people in the pastor’s home at Millstone Twp, NJ on September 22.

2002. Eleven (11) years after, New Hope Church is “One church in Three different locations”. Its membership is well over 300 with members representing over 15 different nationalities and cultures. In a few weeks, New Hope Church will dedicate its building at 400 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton NJ 08609. This ded-ication will mark a new era, a histor-ic time for New Hope Church of God. A series of events have been planned on Friday, October 11th to Sunday, October 13th with several dignitaries participating in the celebration. Among the dignitaries are Dr. Mark Williams, General Overseer of Church of God International, Dr. Wallace Sibley, 3rd Assistant General Overseer, Church of God, Dr. Wayne Solomon, Administrative

Bishop, Cocoa Florida and Bishop Steve Smith, Administrative Bishop, New Jersey. The celebrations will proceed with a concert on Friday, October 11th featur-ing the Dove Award Winner Recording Artist, Lynda Randle as well as record-ing artist, concert pianist, Adlan Cruz. The dedication weekend will include anointed preaching and worship, fun and something for everyone. All are invited to come as New Hope celebrates this joyous occasion of the official dedication of its new church building at Trenton, NJ.

Bishop Bonaparte, who started and has faithfully led New Hope as the Senior Pastor, recounted the moment on December 2008 when the vision to start a separate Building Fund Project came to him. New Hope had outgrown its 150-seater East Windsor

Sanctuary and needed more space to better serve the congregation and com-munity. On January 9, 2013, God made a way for New Hope to officially acquire their current Trenton building, formerly Bethany Presbyterian Church, “debt free”.Since opening for God’s business in January, many neighbors have joined this multicultural congregation in praise and worship services and many other community events including Vacation Bible School and Revival in the park. Many local residents have also benefit-ted from the church’s charitable activities as New Hope operates a food pantry.

“O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation..... for the Lord is a great

God and a great King above all gods.” Psalm 95: 1&3

The Vision & The Victor y
