The New Faces Of GRBC Lifeline Verification Changes TheMainline Quarter 4 @gilarivertel www.gilarivertel.com • [email protected] Long gone are the days of opening an encyclopedia to find information. Now we have the internet to look for any topic we desire. Technology has the potential to open doors to children which can be good and bad. As parents it is our responsibility to protect our children from potential hurt, this even includes technology. It is not always easy staying one step ahead of children when it comes to technology, but here are some suggestions to help. 1. Keep the computer in a common area, where you can watch and monitor what they are looking at. 2. Limit the amount of screen time for your child. 3. Turn in all devices at the end of the night. 4. Periodically check their internet activity. Although it is also important to respect children and teens privacy, safety may outweigh these privacy concerns. The best way to earn each other’s respect is to keep the lines of communication open with your child, talk regularly about online activities and sites they visit. Let your children know what your concerns are and talk to them about online dangers. Our Children And Technology Technology has become commonplace in our lives, even for our children. Long gone are the days of opening an encyclopedia to find information. Now we have the internet to look for any topic we desire.

Technology has the potential to open doors to children which can be good and bad. As parents it is our responsibility to protect our children from potential hurt, this even includes technology.

It is not always easy staying one step ahead of children when it

comes to technology, but here are some suggestions to help.

Two New Faces At GRBCGRBC is proud to introduce two new staff to the team! Everyone welcome Alyse Marrietta and Cordell Parker.

You probably all know Duncan by now. You may have seen him taking your photo during the community parades, District Days, or maybe you attended one of his Digital Literacy classes.

He has been with the GRTI Marketing Department for 6 years. He has made the decision to transfer to GRTI’s

subsidiary company, Alluvion Communications. He will be working as their Brand Marketing Specialist.

We are excited for his new role with Alluvion. Thank you Duncan for your hard work and we wish you continued success!

Duncan’s Moving To Alluvion!

Alyse and Cordell will be taking on the role of Media Editors for GRBC and working on bringing local content to the community, such as programs like Downtime with Rob & Claude which airs Wednesdays at 7:00pm on channels 19.1 & 29.1.

Alyse’s family is from District 4 but she grew up in Holbrook, AZ. She is a recent graduate from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Art in Film and Media Production. Previously she worked for the community for three years as a videographer

and editor at Employment and Training with Edit Box. She says, “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to service my community using my skills, education and passion for film. I’m excited to be a part of the GRBC team!”

Cordell is from Flagstaff, AZ and is a self-taught Navajo videographer. Cordell has expertise in video editing and cinematography. He has done work for several Native owned businesses and organizations in Indian Country such as

United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY), the Phoenix Indian Center, Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI), and has also done documentary work in Los Angeles for their 2nd Annual Indigenous Peoples Day in 2018. Cordell had this to say about his new role, “I hope to help deliver aesthetically pleasing content to the Gila River Indian Community.”

Thank you for joining the team and we are lucky to have these up and coming talents at GRBC!

Happy Holidays from GRTI

“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.”
