CHICKEN AGILITY: Most of us have trained or tried to train a dog.. and some have foolishly

tried to train a cat?? And for Kids hmmm no comment… Chickens will be a snap..they say… They

are alert , they are smart and they are easily motivated. Well we have devised this course that

appears to be so menacing so challenging only the brave would venture onto it…. HOWEVER upon

closer inspection you will see it is cleverly quite simple and your chicken will make you proud …..

the course will consist of a weave pole, two hoops to go thru and turn around then over a ramp and

sprinting to the finish line… Ideally your chicken will breeze thru the course on a pure command of

your choice; however in reality they will most likely have to be motivated by trickery such as treats. It

will basically be a timed event. With time penalty for infractions. Examples of Infractions would be:

1) for each use of a trickery device (treat), 2) having to physically catch or direct your bird. 3) not

completing or partially completing and obstacle challenge. See diagram below. We also have posted

plans and description on website. There is no entry fee for this; but do let us know that you wish

to participate. Prize: Chicken Swing and treats from Fowl Play Products

BARN YARD CLASSIC: A PEOPLE CHOICE EVENT WITH A 50/50 RAFFLE

ATTACHED to support the NAHS scholarship.

The Barn Yard Classic is a fun class of birds, your surprises, mistakes or experiments. This bird is

sort of a chicken soup of breeding genetics, a bird of back yard wonderment. It is possibly your

barn yard favorite, not necessarily show quality.

The only rules; birds must be tested or from a tested flock, must be healthy and clean (no pig

pen entries) and not a recognized show bird.

Entry fee is $ 3.00 per bird; limit three (3) entries per exhibitor. We encourage you to provide

a name to add personality to your bird. You can also provide some insight as to how the bird

was created.

There are two parts:

1) Barnyard Classic: How do we pick the winning bird? The winners will be picked

by popular vote. Winning bird will get 50% of the Barn Yard Classic entry money and a $ 25

gift certificate from Murray McMurray Hatchery . Each visitor to the show will get a ballot

when they enter the show hall. Both visitors and exhibitors can purchase additional ballots as

well. Why would you buy additional tickets? Because after we count up the ballots to pick

the winning bird; all ballots are put together for a 50/50 drawing. (made up from all the ticket

sales). This part supports the scholarship.

2) BARNYARD CLASSIC RAFFLE: Once we pick the Barn Yard Bird ; all the ballots are

put in one bag, (they are shaken, not stirred), and we pull out a ticket for the cash door prize.

The prize money will be on a 50/50 basis. The winning ticket drawn will get 50% of the

ticket money the other half will go to the scholarship.
