The Multitasker: A Threshold Object for
Friends of Sue Ellen

What does it do?
1. Keeps track of John Ross2. Communicates with other friends3. Passes along knowledge that friends need to know to do their part to support Sue Ellen’s efforts on his behalf

How is it used?1. Viewers join a local chapter of a club, the Dallas Cattle
Baronesses. 2. Viewers obtain a Multitasker.3. Viewers identify three friends to Multitask with.4. Multitasking group has usernames and passwords to log
in when watching the show.5. Multitasking group actually passes on knowledge to a
minor character on the show. This character can affect the course of action by passing information to a main character.
6. By moving the color cards on the Multitasker, a machine readable signal is generated that sends information to friends and to the minor character.

Use Case Scenario
How can Sue Ellen best help John Ross?
How can friends help find out what really happened?
Is there some small piece of information that a minor character could bring in that would help resolve this situation?
Laurie Marion 2012
Use Case Scenario1. Placing a particular card
vertically sends a signal that the minor character should speak to a specific character represented by the card.
2. If there is a consensus from all the friends that this should happen, the minor character does speak to the character represented by the card.
3. Information exchanged between them may help Sue Ellen decide what is the best action.
