Transcript of The Most Common Transmission Problems
Diagnosing the vehicle problem is much difficult for
an untrained user.
But when you start noticing something wrong or listening some odd noise then it’s time to pause & think
about the problem and try to fix it in the first stage.
Transmission takes very long years to show any problem in it and the transmission repair is very expensive if you have ignored the first problematic sign.
Symptoms
Lack of response
Whining or clunking or humming noise
Leaking Fluid
Grinding or shaking noises
Burning smell
Symptoms
Blinking check engine light
Transmission noisy in neutral
Slipping Gear
Lack of response
In a manual transmission, the lacking issue affects the speed
of the vehicle and you will get more engine sound but the
vehicle doesn’t show any speed.
These issues usually due to the clutch but
sometimes it leads to a severe problem.
Whining or clunking or humming noise
But if there is a problem in automatic transmission
then you will hear slight buzzing sound with whining
and humming.
In manual transmission when you shift the gear, you
will hear a clunking sound
Leaking Fluid
If you found ATF leaking then you should fix the hole
first or if you get a burning smell from the fluid then
change it.
The drivetrain must be smooth until there’s a
problem of shaking or jerking
If the Manual transmission makes a grinding noise while
shifting gears then it might be an issue with the clutch or
worn gear synchronization.
