Stanford 10
Testing Week
is
April 16-19,
AIMS and Stanford 10...here we come!
We will be administering the AIMS test for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students the week
of April 16th –20. We will also be administering the Stanford 10 test to 2nd grade stu-
dents that week. The test will be given in two parts that will take most of the day.
Please do not pick your children up early. If they must leave while taking the test they
can not finish it later and their score will not be counted. During this week we need
100% attendance of all students. We need your help to reach our goal. Please have
your child go to bed early, get enough sleep and have a breakfast at school in the
morning. Let them know that this is an important week for them and the school.
During the week of AIMS we will have music everyday during lunch on the playground
and special snacks during testing. On Friday we have a special BBQ Hot Dog lunch for
all students who were here 100%. We also have a special movie afternoon planned on
Monday April 23, for all 2nd –5th grade students who are present all week of AIMS
testing. We are proud of what our students are doing this year and we are looking
forward to our AIMS scores. Their hard work will show in the results. Families, your
hard work shows in the results too. You are the most important part of your child's
life.
Reminders and Tips for Testing-
Your child must be here for the whole test. If you sign them out early they will not be
allowed to finish the test at a later date. Talk to your teacher about a necessary ab-
sence.
Children need plenty of rest before the test.
Be a cheerleader for your child. Let them know that this is important and to do their
best.
If your child is here every day they will participate in the BBQ lunch and movie day on
Monday.

We believe in creating a safe environment for using data at IOES. Our IOES Leadership Team and teachers that are very dedica ted to the
mission and vision of closing the achievement gap and reducing the failure rate overtime. Our staff feel very comfortable about data conver-
sations in order to create our next steps for the students. Data allows our teachers and administrators to make connections to what stu-
dents are learning and what teachers are teaching. Our school wide goal is to increase students reading and math proficiency rate from 20%
to 60% or higher. This is not an impossible task! We believe in creating common formative assessments and strategically use other re-
sources that will help our students demonstrate mastery of skills in order to be successful academically. Below are math and reading data
from Kindergarten and First Grade. Our goal is for our students to reach 80% or higher on age/grade level appropriate assessments. Please
stop by the Elementary School and see our data walls:)
