The mission of the UFMC

•UFMC is a market-driven business aiming at – Creating value for owners and cattle farmers – Through supplying meat and processed meat products – To the Ugandan market, the regional markets in Eastern and

Central Africa and to other international markets, – By developing and operating a meat industry based on

up-to-date international standards for quality and hygiene in slaughtering, cutting, processing and distribution.

UFMC key messages:

• UFMC is a consistent supplier of good quality beef and beef products;

• UFMC is fully certified as a producer and marketer of halal beef and beef products;

• UFMC’s abattoir operation and distribution is according to modern international standards for hygiene and food safety - unique in Uganda;

• UFMC’s beef and beef products are produced from animals that have been handled, transported and slaughtered humanely;

• UFMC controls its supply chain from the cattle producer to product distribution and control is based on UFMC’s principle of a fair return to all stakeholders along the chain.
