“Going to church every Sunday no more makes
you aChristian,
than standing in a garage makes you a
car.”
GK Chesterton
But there is another way to think!
Mary is a virgin
Jesus is human
Eucharist is bread and wine
God is three
Mary is a mother
Jesus is God
Eucharist is body and blood of Christ
God is one
How Jesus Thought
Stoning of the Adulterous Woman…
Those among you without sin, cast the first stone…
NON-DUALISTIC THINKING
YOU ARE OTHER THAN ME.
BUT WE ARE ALSO NOT OTHER THAN EACH OTHER…
I AM OTHER THAN YOU.
THE MIND OF CHRIST
TRULY I SAY TO YOU THAT WHEN YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THESE BROTHERS OF MINE, EVEN THE LEAST OF THEM, YOU DID IT TO ME.
(MATT. 25: 35-37)
YOU ARE CONNECTED – TO GOD – TO ALL PEOPLE-TO ALL CREATION…
SEPARATE SELF
The Identity YOU create for Yourself
The self that CHANGES and DIES
The Branch separate from the VINE
The fragile needy self
The necessary but not sufficient self
True Self
Not two but not one either…
Separate but not separate
Connected to God and to others and to all creation
The INDWELLING that is in ALL and CONNECTS ALL
Contemplation/Meditation
Teaches us through Silence
Practicing NON-DUALISTIC AWARENESS
Shut down the dualistic brain
Think within the MYSTERY of self as both OTHER THAN and NOT-OTHER THAN
Flashpoints of Non-Duality
Lovers – not two but one, live in their oneness but maintain their twoness…
Our children – they are us, but not us.
Nature – deep connection when contemplating ocean, trees, fire burning, gardening, our love for our pets…
Scripture PassagesFear not, for I am with you ALWAYS…
Put on the Mind of Christ…
What you do to the least of these, you do to me…
I and the Father are one…
I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am, you may also be.
And He will give you a Comforter, that He may remain with you forever…
The Spirit of Truth…for He lives with you constantly and will be in you…
