Our 2014 Concert SeasonSince its inaugura/on in 2009 The Metropolitan Orchestra has presented accessible classical music performances that are highly cherished and valued by the Sydney community. In 2014 we con/nue our mission of delivering premium concert experiences from in/mate, local venues throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Patroned by Guy Noble and under the baton of Ar/s/c Director & Chief Conductor Sarah-‐Grace Williams, TMO's 2014 season consists of three main series -‐ Met Series, TMO Chamber Players and our new TMO Cushion Concerts. With addi/onal Special Concert Events throughout the year, there really is something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you to our concert halls.
TMO MET SERIES Performed in the Eugene Goossens Hall, ABC Centre, our Met Series is TMO’s flagship orchestral series. U/lising the full orchestra, this series presents invi/ng and exci/ng programs featuring leading Australian soloists and composers.
TMO CHAMBER PLAYERSTMO Chamber Players showcases the principal players in small chamber concerts that are presented in the in/mate seWngs of Leichhardt and Balmain Town Halls.
TMO CUSHION CONCERTSNew in 2014, this interac/ve concert series is designed for families and young audiences. These shorter concerts (without interval) in the morning and early a[ernoon encourage children to sit on cushions and rugs on the floor of Balmain Town Hall to get close to all the musicians.
TMO SPECIAL EVENTSTMO will appear for a number of special events in 2014 including Faure’s Requiem with the Sydney Chamber Choir and Richard Gill and heading to the high seas with patron Guy Noble for 7 days of performance in the South Pacific!
