The Good News

Thought of the Week: “Perfection can never be achieved, only given, and in the Gospel, it has been.” —Tchividjian

Mission Moment—Holt Cason Our VIM team in Guatemala traveled over 1,500 miles in about 6 hours, including layover time, this past weekend. Comparing this to the time it took the Apostle Paul to travel on his first mission trip from Antioch to Cyprus, a distance of about 170 miles, it is amazing that mission trips have continued for over 1900 years. We certainly owe the Apostle Paul a debt of gratitude for starting a concept of being a missionary, and for spreading the love of God to others in distant places where the language and culture is different. Please pray for our VIM team.

First Light & Outreach Ministry—Jeff Harrison Hey everyone,

As some of you may know, I am hosting a small group for our beta test at my house. It has been an awesome experience so far. I have been really blessed to get to know the people in my small group better, share concerns, pray for others and be prayed for. Andy and Sally Langford write in their book, Living as United Methodist Christians, "We often can hear God more clearly when we read the scriptures with

other believers." We are starting a second round of small groups after Easter and I would encourage all of you to take part in them. If you need any info on the groups, please contact me or Kris Roberts. In Christ,

Jeff

Happy Birthday!!!

Please check our prayer list in the newsletter and on the church’s white board outside the office. Help the staff stay in touch! If you have knowledge of any of our Senior

Adult Members who would like to be remembered in prayer or would like a visit from our pastoral staff, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Also, we acknowledge birthdays of Senior Adult Members weekly in the newsletter; if you would like to be added to the list give me a call (Esther: 455-5434).

Kris’ Picks: excerpts and recommendations of music, books and film by Kris Roberts, Director of Student and Family Life Ministries

Gungor - One Wild Life: Soul (2015) Michael and Lisa Gungor, the masterminds behind their aptly titled duo "Gungor," have released their new album One Wild Life: Soul. Soul is the first part of a trilogy that will be coming out over the next 12 months with the others being One Wild Life: Spirit and One Wild Life: Body. Soul captures the brilliance of art & music with beautiful orchestral scores and spiritual illumination. —Justin Sarachik, via BREATHEcast

This album is beautifully written and has been a nice addition to my quiet times this Lenten season. I highly recommend it!

COMING IN FEBRUARY! Soup and Salad Youth Mission Fundraiser Sunday, February 28th, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Davidson Hall Join us for a great lunch and help sponsor our youth ministry as we serve others this summer!

I am excited to announce that our small group ministry program began recently with nearly 50 people participating, in 4 home groups around Tullahoma. This new opportunity will allow church members to meet during the week for some food, fellowship and a time of sharing and prayer. The groups will meet weekly for 6 weeks to discuss the themes and scriptures from Pastor Paul's sermons. Following Easter, we will meet again

for 6 weeks, and take a break during May, June and July. In August, we will conduct a training seminar for new host homes and facilitators with the goal of having 10 groups in place by September. If you would like to be involved or would like more information about our small group ministry, please contact Kris Roberts, Director of Family Life Ministries at 931-581-2310.
