The Mayweather Effect: Can a Young Black Male Break the Jewish Stronghold on Boxing?

Weekly Newsletter Volume 3, Number 16

by Deric Muhammad(FinalCall.com) - Floyd Mayweather Jr. is perfect.

Not as a human being of course, but his win/loss record as a professional prizefighter (42-0) is without stain or blemish. HARD WORK! DEDICATION! is his motto and he apparently lives up to it. Ive never seen any athlete talk so much trash and back it up so well. He has truly mastered the craft of boxing using quickness, de-fensive wizardry and intelligence to best all opponents. But physical supremacy in sports is nothing new to the Black athlete. It is the intelligence outside of the ring that he and his business team are exhibiting that appears to be a threat to those that control the sport.

Brutal, but lucrative. Two adjectives that can be summed up in one wordBOXING. Known as the hurt business, it is an American sport that has gener-ated billions, yet de-generated most of its athletes. While the quality of life of most boxers, mentally, physically and finan-cially traditionally plummets, the quality of life of promoters and the executives who control the sport gets finer with time. While most boxers end up broke and broken, Mayweather, who intelligently rarely takes punishment in his fights, is on a quest to break the bank of boxing, and, simply put, White folks aint too happy about it.

In Mayweathers corner is a seldom-seen, Harvard-educated, brilliant businessman named Al Haymon. Haymon, also a major concert promoter, doesnt take pictures and never speaks publicly but is the business genius behind Mayweathers $40-50 million per fight paydays. At no time has any fighter taken home the kind of revenue that Mayweather has. It is not that the rev-enue has not been generated in the past: it just usually

ends up in the bank accounts of executives who uppercut professional fighters with draconian contracts before the first round of any fight. Sub-sequently, most fighters end up punch drunk with bankruptcy, a mountain of medical bills and a lot of unreturned phone calls to their lawyers, promoter and accountants.

In the opposing corner is a Harvard-trained lawyer-turned-boxing-promoter named Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions. A tax attorney

who worked in the Kennedy administration, Arum made the transition to the boxing arena in the 1960s working with Muham-mad Ali. Hes been around a long time and is somewhat of an am-bassador for the sport. He is said to have control over much of the boxing media and its relation-ship to mainstream media. He has made millions as a promoter, yet has a reputation for being a shrewd, unfair businessman who rips off his fighters. Arum reportedly even admitted during a federal trial that he had bribed the International Boxing Federa-

tion president in order to gain a more favorable rating for one of his fighters. He was penalized $125,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commis-sion in 1995 for a bribe to get one of his fights sanctioned. Most of Arums fighters are Hispanic or Black. He himself is Jewish.

As the story is told, Top Rank Promotions was originally founded by the late Jabir (Her-bert) Muhammad, the son of the Most Hon-orable Elijah Muhammad. Herbert partnered

  • with Arum to form Top Rank, Arum being the attorney for the company. Legend has it that the company became lucrative and Arum eventually finessed Jabir out of the business and ended up owning it for him-self. What many dont know is that even the great promoter Don King had a Jewish backer by the name of Henry (Hank) Schwartz. In that day Jews controlled the closed-circuit satellites that were necessary to broadcast fights worldwide. Jewish control in boxing runs deeper than the naked eye can detect, because they usually hide behind Black or Hispanic pro-moters like Don King and the late Butch Lewis.

Floyd Mayweather was a young champion in the stable of Bob Arum from 1996-2006. YouTube video footage from that period shows Arum pro-moting Mayweather as the best complete fighter since Mu-hammad Ali. When Mayweather decided to break from the Jewish-owned company and start his own, he became somewhat of a villain to the Arum-con-trolled boxing media. He went from being praised by Arum to being accused of being afraid of certain fighters, including Manny Pacquiao, whom Arum promotes also. As long as Mayweather was making millions for Arum he was the darling of the sport, but when he decided to become his own boss Arum tried to turn the boxing world against him.

Muhammad Ali, under the management of Jabir Muhammad, was the first Black fighter to under-stand his value and demand large sums of money in order to display his gift. Mayweather is doing the same, yet in an unprecedented fashion. While his legal issues indicate that the brother, like us all, has more work to do on himself, personally Im root-ing for Mayweather and his team in their quest for domination inside and outside the ring. Yes, I know he is a young brother with a big mouth. However, he is also a brother with a big heart, whose charitable

record in giving back to the Black community is as strong as his left hook yet hardly mentioned in the media.

It does my heart good to see brothers like May-weather and Al Haymon join forces to take over a sport like boxing. I believe the Black NBA players and executives can learn a lot from what theyre attempt-ing to do. You may have your mixed feelings about Floyd Mayweather. All I ask is that you take a look at the bigger picture. When he steps in the ring, hes always facing a bigger opponent than the boxer in the other corner. Hes up against men like Bob Arum who see him as a threat to the Jewish chokehold on boxing. Hes up against the tradition in American sports that sug-gests that Black athletic tal-

ent should always be owned and controlled by White people.

It saddens me to see some of our greatest champi-ons end up in dire straits after making millions in the squared circle. We can blame some of it on execu-tives, promoters and accountants, but some of them probably just made some unwise investments and personal decisions as well. The late great Joe Louis ended up as a nightclub bouncer. Other greats like Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and an endless list of others ended up with little to nothing for themselves or their families. Ali, an international icon, may enjoy a decent quality of life financially but suffers from Parkinsons disease. If Mayweather can retire from the sport in good health and with sound invest-ments, he will have defeated the odds that tradition-ally haunt the Black boxer.

I say all Black up-and-coming champions should unite with Mayweather, Haymon and other Black promoters. Then all Black promoters should unite and pool their resources and expertise to create bet-

  • ter opportunities for Black fighters. Too often, our fighters end up with slurred speech and bankrupt pockets, because their careers are handled by leech-es who care nothing for them. Floyd Mayweather is setting a good example by taking the fight from in-side the ring to the outside. The way forward for all Black athletes is ownership through unity. Anything else will bring about unfavorable consequences.

3Floyd Mayweather escaped the plantation of White ownership and started doing for self. And for that he gets my respect.

Secret Jewish Belief in UFOs Revealed; Defends FarrakhanTo: Arthur GoldwagFrom: Jackie MuhammadRe: Your Rebuke of Minister FarrakhanYou recently wrote a blog in the Atlantic in which

you ridiculed The Honorable Minister Louis Far-rakhan for his brilliant and magnificent four-and-a-half-hour Saviours Day speech on February 26 before a capacity gathering at Chicagos United Arena and a national and international audience of countless view-ers via the Internet.

The object of your criticism, ridicule and scorn of him was to discredit him for his fascination with flying saucers and his discussion of his experience on the Wheel.

Several Jewish commentators like yourself have sought to belittle The Minister, making him out to be detached from reality because of his account of his experience on the Wheel. The Wheel, or what some have classified as a UFO, is not a creation of the Nation of Islam and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This concept was introduced to the world by the ancient writers of the Bible; in fact, it has its or-igins in Jewish theologynot NOI folklore. Accord-ing to the Jewish Encyclopedia, the Hebrew word for this flying wheel is merkabah, meaning the Heav-enly Throne or Gods Throne-Chariot, a technological marvel the ancient Jews envisioned God would use to defeat His enemies (who are variously described as Satan, the rebellious angels, Gog and Magog, etc.) and usher in a new world order.

The Maaseh Merkabah, which literally means the Work of the Chariot, is the Jewish theosophical literature concerning Gods Throne-Chariot the [Hebrew] conception of Yhwh riding upon cherubim, or fiery cloud-birds, upon the heavens or the clouds; hence His war-chariotwith special reference to prophet Ezekiels vision. It is a Talmudic term for the

esoteric Judaic doctrine of the nature of God and the secrets of Gods throne, and is based on the description of the Divine Chariot in the Book of Ezekiel and on other prophetic descriptions of divine manifestations. According to the ancient Talmudic Rabbi Ammi, the maaseh merkabah is a secret doctrine that must not be discussed in public and might be entrusted only to one who possessed [certain] qualities. The Talmud often describes the perils connected with the unau-thorized discussion of the maaseh merkabah. Indeed, the ancient Mishnah lays down this rule: The maaseh merkabah should not be taught to any one except he be wise and able to deduce knowledge through wis-dom of his own.

The ancient rabbis sought to suppress the Book of Ezekiel because, they said, it was not for children. They taught that only the learned rabbis could read and properly interpret Ezekiels vision. The unlearned, they said, would be consumed by fire, or could go mad. Now, to the consternation of the ancient and modern rabbis, Minister Farrakhan is exposing the hidden meaning of the vision of Ezekiel and giving its true interpretation to the whole world.

The understanding of the Wheel is one of the cornerstones of the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Master Fard Muhammad, the found-er of the Nation of Islam and the man The Minister reintroduced to the world on February 26. To make light of what they taught is to belittle that which the prophets, sages and wise men of Judaism espoused themselves. What The Minster teaches about the Wheel is not inconsistent with what has been taught in your own religion or culture. To ridicule The Minister is to ridicule Elijah the Prophet, Abraham, Enoch, Eze-kiel, Paul, Moses, and other Biblical figures who had encounters with the Wheel.

For example, wasnt the Prophet Elijah (2 Kings 2:11; Isaiah 66:15) transported to heaven via the

Did Jews Condemn Min. FARRA-KHANs Southern College Tour?

[I]n Israel today...humane, univer-salistic Zionism does not wield power. To the contrary, it is gasping for air. To understand how deeply antithetical its values are to those of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus government, its worth considering the case of Effi Ei-tam. Eitam, a charismatic excabinet minister and war hero, has proposed ethnically cleansing Palestinians from the West Bank. Well have to expel the over-whelming majority of West Bank Arabs from here and remove Israeli Arabs from [the] political system, he declared in 2006. In 2008, Eitam merged his small Ahi Party into Netanyahus Likud. And for the 20092010 academic year, he is Netanyahus special emissary for over-seas campus engagement. In that capac-ity, he visited a dozen American high schools and colleges last fall on the Is-raeli governments behalf. The group that organized his tour was called Cara-van for Democracy.

Chariot of God, which was likened to a whirlwind? What about Enoch, the friend of God? Wasnt he tran-scended (Gen. 5:24) bodily to God without experienc-ing death? And then there was Abraham. Was he not taken up to heaven in the chariot of the cherubim? And, yes, Ezekiel (Ezekiel 8) himself was a rider on the merkabah. And there was Paul (2 Cor. 12:2-4), who was carried off, transported to heaven and returned, like some of his predecessors.

What about the transfiguration of Jesus (Matt. 17:1-9) on the mountain where he has an encounter with Moses and Elijah? Finally, in Islam we have a similar depiction of Prophet Muhammads (PBUH) Night Journey. Regardless of the means of transport, the purpose of the merkabah experience was spiritual transcendence. All of these men, including The Min-ister, experienced a spiritual transcendence.

All of these prophets spiritual experiences were enhanced by their encounter with the Wheel. Strange, but I dont see you criticizing any of these men as

  • 5having mental aberrations. But when an intelligent, articulate, iconic Black man stands before the world and makes the same claims, you ridicule him. I am sure youre familiar with the story of the goose and the gander. Whats good for them is good for us.

The English poet John Milton, one of the great-est writers/poets of the seventeenth century, was so affected by the concept of the Wheel that he recon-ceptualized Ezekiels vision in the epic poem Paradise Lost. Following on the heels of the Protestant Refor-mation, Milton envisioned his Chariot of Zeale as the means by which God would fight the forces of evil that the founder of the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther, identified as the corrupt leaders of the Catholic Church.

Farrakhans vision is as real as the experiences of all the ancient sages, but what about today and the mod-ern era in which we live? Are you familiar with the evangelicals who believe that they will be taken up to heaven in a spacecraft to be with God at the end of the world? In his book The Rapture, Hal Lindsey says that the raptured will be transported to heaven in a mother ship. The evangelicals believe that they will be travel-ing at a rate of speed of 186,000 miles per second to be with their Lord.

The so-called UFOs have been seen by some of the top political leaders in the nation: among them are former President Jimmy Carter, former Governor Fife Symington of Arizona, former presidential candidate and current congressman Dennis Kucinich, and the late President Ronald Reagan.

The late Tim Russert, the longest-serving modera-tor of NBCs Meet the Press, senior vice president at NBC News, and Washington bureau chief, questioned Congressman Kucinich about his reported sight-ings of UFOs. During the presiden-tial debates of 2007, Mr. Kucinich acknowledged that both he and former President Carter, on sepa-rate occasions, were eyewitnesses to these aerial phenomena. Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, a pilot and U.S. Air Force veteran, told CNNs Anderson Cooper that he sighted a huge unidentified flying object in the Phoenix skies on March 13, 1997, an event that was witnessed by hundredsif not thousandsof

people in Arizona, and my office was besieged with phone calls from very concerned Arizonians.

Ronald Reagan, as Governor of the State of Cali-fornia, encountered these aircrafts on two separate occasions. The first sighting took place when then Governor Reagan was on his way to a party held by actor William Holden in Hollywood. He and his wife, Nancy, arrived at the party an hour late. He described how he and Mrs. Reagan had seen a UFO while driving down the coast highway to Los Angeles and stopped to watch the event. Comedian Steve Allen and actress Lucille Ball, who recounted the story in her memoir Lucy in the Afternoon, told of the account Reagan had given to the Hollywood elite.

The second event took place in 1974 when Reagan was on his state-owned Cessna Citation jet plane. His pilot, Air Force Colonel Bill Paynter, spotted the craft and was ordered by the governor to follow it. Upon approaching the craft the governor and his pilot saw the craft go from a normal cruise speed to a fantastic speed instantly, at which point they lost sight of the craft as it ascended into that realm of the heavens the little Cessna could not possibly go.

Reagans fascination with his UFO experience culminated with the U.S. governments Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), also known as Star Wars. When Reagan became president, he put billions of dollars in the development of a defense system de-signed to defeat the UFOs he had encountered: a secret weapon that used a laser traveling on a beam of light that would move through space at a rate of 186,000 miles per second to destroy the aircrafts he had encountered as governor.

The concept of the Wheel is not alien to the Black religious experience, both during and after our experi-ence as slaves in America. I am sure you are familiar with the Negro spiritual, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, a song originally written by an ex-slave, Wallis Willis. What you may not know is that the slaves envisioned the Wheel as an instrument that God would use to kill the white slave master and lead the enslaved Blacks to freedom. So the concept of the Wheel is part of the Black communitys religious and cultural paradigm.

The purpose of the Wheel is twofold: it is to be used for redemption and for destruction. This is similar to Minister Farrakhans explanation of the Wheels purpose, namely, that it is to be used in this modern era to destroy the enemies of God and redeem His people. This is totally in line with the purpose of the Wheel as conceived by the Hebrew prophets. So to belittle Minister Farrakhans experience with the Wheel is to express a profound ignorance of Talmudic doctrine, Jewish esoteric teachings, Christian theology, Biblical prophecy, Black history, and the U.S. govern-ments military initiatives against the Wheel itself.

What Carter, Symington, Kucinich, Reagan and countless others have experienced is real. It is not an aberration. The technology associated with the Wheel is far superior to anything this world has ever seen. According to The Honorable Elijah Muhammad this

wheel-like plane is a masterpiece of mechanics. Eze-kiels visionwhich included hints on the Great Wis-dom of Almighty God (Allah)has indeed become a reality. Just as Reagan couldnt develop a weapon to destroy the Wheel, neither can you tarnish the reputa-tion of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan by belittling his personal experience with it. The Minister boldly proclaims that the power of that Wheel and the Personnel commanding it are what protects him and what makes him the bold, uncompromising, iconic phenomenon that he is. Though this may be hard for you to accept, you have no choice; however, you now have the truth.
