Mariners Walk Heritage Trail Supported by The Mariners Walk Heritage Trail commemorates the history of Port Stephens’ mariners through interpretative displays and signage in Soldiers Point and Salamander Bay. The project was instigated by the Port Stephens Historical Society and made possible due to a grant from the National Maritime Museum and funding from the NSW State Government Community Builders Program. The project is proudly supported by the Soldiers Point - Salamander Bay Landcare 355c Committee, the Mambo Wanda Wetlands Reserves & Landcare 355c Committee and the Lions Club of Soldiers Point and Port Stephens Council. The Cromarty Family and the Navel Base Lands, 10 Seaview Crescent

The Mariners Walk Heritage Trail is an easy* 40 minute walk along a stunning foreshore for approximately 3.3km and provides an opportunity to learn more about the facinating maritime history of the area.

The Mariners Walk Heritage Trail consists of eight detailed signs showcasing some of the maritime history including the navel significance of the Salamander and Soldiers Point area.
