INTRODUCTION
• Cape Cod is home to many of the country’s finest windmills, as people like to come down to Cape Cod to see all of the windmills on the island.
• We’re going to take a look at some of the many windmills on Cape Cod that you can see during your Cape Cod vacation.
THE EASTHAM WINDMILL
The Eastham Windmill is believed to be the oldest windmill on Cape Cod, dating back to 1680.
THE HIGGINS FARM WINDMILL
The Higgins Farm Windmill was first built in 1795. It is beautiful in the fall just as it is during the summer.
THE BREWSTER WINDMILL
This windmill in Brewster is a highlight during the holidays when it is decorated with beautiful lights.
THE OLD MILL This windmill in Nantucket was built in 1746. It is the only surviving mill of the four “smock mills” that still overlooks Nantucket to this day.
THE CHATHAM WINDMILL
This windmill was built in 1797 by Benjamin Godfrey. It is one of the few windmills that has been in the same location since it was built.
THE JUDAH BAKER WINDMILL
This windmill is currently on the shores of the Bass River in Yarmouth, as it has been moved multiple times since it was built in 1791.
