Our L-finesse (L = leading edge) creative language allows Lexus designers to express power and strength with great finesse - creating vehicles that are forward-looking and deeply artistic. Look closer at the LX 570 and intriguing design elements reveal themselves: the ‘spindle-shaped’ grille that reflects the latest in Lexus design and the distinctive High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED front fog lamps. Attention to detail is apparent throughout this vehicle. For example, to achieve peace and comfort at high speeds, wind noise is reduced by the meticulous design of bodywork seals, door mirrors and window frame mouldings.

5.7-LITRE PETROL ENGINE, 6-SPEED ‘PADDLE SHIFT’ TRANSMISSION

The LX 570 luxury SUV is powered by the largest engine ever fitted to a Lexus. Delivering 270 kW of power and 530 Nm of torque, it works seamlessly with a very flexible 6-speed ‘paddle shift’ automatic transmission for both dynamic and smooth gear changes. The LX 570 will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds up to a top speed of 210 km/h (electronically limited). With its V8 cylinder block die-cast in lightweight yet strong aluminium alloy, it is also an engine that will last – giving great reliability and durability. During development, Lexus engineers tested the drivetrain for 1.3 million kilometres – the equivalent of 32 times around the globe.

FIRST-CLASS REFINEMENT

The LX 570 is a vehicle of contrasts. Outside, the impression is of strength, solidity and resolve. Inside it’s a remarkably quiet and civilised place to be, thanks to extensive soundproofing and anti-vibration measures. The exquisitely finished interior sets the standards in SUV refinement and luxury, while behind the wheel you’ll notice how the ergonomic cockpit surrounds you for a really relaxed and comfortable drive. Everything you touch in the LX 570 communicates the vehicle’s quality – from the finely stitched, leather-trimmed wooden steering wheel and soft touch leather that contrasts with finely varnished wooden inserts, to the stunning multi-media graphics on this flagship SUV.

LEATHER SEATS, REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT

The LX 570 is a very relaxing place to be, even on the longest journeys. The leather seats are extremely comfortable (each has its own headrest) and have extra lateral support that you’ll particularly appreciate when driving off-road. The premium grade leather - that is perforated so it can ‘breathe’ – is machine-stitched for precision, yet finished and checked by a Lexus master craftsperson. A rear seat home-theatre experience is offered with the LX 570’s Rear Seat Entertainment system, with screens mounted in the backs of the front seat headrests. Operated by remote control, each 7-inch monitor can show a different film or video game and offers the choice of playing audio through headphones or the 19 speakers.

MULTI-TERRAIN SELECT

The LX 570 is specified with the world’s most advanced off-road technologies, including multi-terrain ABS and Crawl Control. For peerless command of wilderness conditions, Multi-Terrain Select adjusts multiple vehicle systems to best negotiate the chosen terrain: Loose Rock, Mud/Sand, Mogul, Rock or Rock/Dirt. At low speeds, Crawl Control intelligently applies throttle and braking applications – optimised by multi-terrain ABS. This lets the driver focus exclusively on steering the LX 570 in the toughest of off-road conditions.

MULTI-TERRAIN MONITOR

Miniature cameras are strategically positioned in both of the door mirror housings, the front grille and tailgate. These relay up to four live images to the Multi-Terrain Monitor, providing a near 360° view of the area around the vehicle. This helps the driver spot rocks, ruts, crevices or sheer drops that might otherwise be obscured from view.

FOUR-WHEEL ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL

Intelligent control of air-suspension technology automatically adjusts the ground clearance at each wheel. By making continuous, individual adjustments according to the terrain, this Lexus world-first technology ensures optimum off-road vehicle balance and control.

PERMANENT ALL-WHEEL DRIVE

Featur ing f ront and rear differentials, 3 propeller shafts and TORSEN® Limited Slip Differential, robust permanent all-wheel drive is at the heart of the LX 570’s supreme off-road ability. For maximum traction, the torque-sensing differential distributes power according to the grip available at each wheel.

The supreme off-road ability of the LX 570 does not compromise on-road driving composure. Indeed, its advanced electronic traction control technologies, sophisticated adaptive suspension and permanent all-wheel drive also contribute to agile, yet remarkably comfortable, on-road handling and performance.

ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION (AVS)

A leading edge technology contributing to both on- and off-road performance, Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) can adjust vehicle height as appropriate. On-road, AVS reduces ride height at higher speeds to improve aerodynamic performance. And at rest, it smoothly lowers by about 150 mm to ease exit and entry.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION / BRAKE ASSIST

Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) works with ABS to ensure optimum brake-force is applied to each wheel. The Brake Assist System comes into action during emergency braking and increases brake-force automatically if required.

HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL (HAC)

When starting off on a slope, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) automatically maintains brake pressure to help prevent the LX 570 from slipping forwards or backwards. HAC works both on-road and off-road and helps reduce driver fatigue.

ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL (ATRC)

ATRC increases the LX 570’s ability to grip the road, especially when starting off or accelerating on uneven or slippery surfaces. Corrective measures are applied the moment the risk of wheel-spin is detected, thereby maintaining traction.

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC)

VSC helps prevent the loss of vehicle control, particularly when cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid. Stability is improved and vehicle speed reduced by the selective application of brakes and, or power reduction.

ISO-FIX SEAT ANCHORS

LX 570 drivers with small children will appreciate the added security of ISO-FIX seat mountings. These are used to quickly attach child seats in a safe and secure fashion.

8 x THREE-POINT SEATBELTS

Each seat is specified with a 3-point seat belt. For the third row, centre seat this necessitated an innovative design solution with the belt retracting fully into the roof lining when not in use.

CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAGS

LX 570 airbags are sensor controlled and inflate depending on the intensity and direction of impact. Curtain shield airbags run the entire length of the side windows to protect occupants in all three seat rows. They inflate within milli-seconds of a side impact, or in the unlikely event of the vehicle rolling over.

ENERGY ABSORPTION

In developing the LX 570, Lexus engineers also sought to enhance the impact absorption rate, a normally contradictory characteristic of strength and rigidity. They achieved this without compromise by implementing an entirely new concept. The LX 570 can absorb and disperse the energy of a 5.0 ton impact – a new standard for a vehicle of this type.

COMPREHENSIVE AIRBAG PROTECTION

The LX 570 is specified with a shield of ten airbags to help protect all occupants. In addition to dual-stage head airbags, there are knee and side airbags for driver and front passenger. Row two outer seat passengers have side airbags, while curtain shield airbags complete the comprehensive protection.

ULTRA-STRONG CONSTRUCTION

Immense strength and exceptional torsional rigidity are essential to supreme off-road performance. And the LX 570 sets new standards here. Compared to its predecessor, much higher tensile steel is used and the frame area is significantly increased. This ultra-strong construction not only benefits off-road performance, but also makes the LX 570 an extremely safe and robust vehicle

20" ALLOY WHEELS

These stunning 10-spoke design forged alloy wheels create a dynamic impact. Specified with lower profile 285/50 R20 tyres, this combination adds to the visual appeal of the LX 570 but is less suited to off-road use.

ADVANCED HEADLIGHTS

High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights with, Auto-matic High-Beam (AHB) provide exceptional illumination. Light Emitting Diode (LED) Daytime Running Lights ensure the LX 570 is visible to other road- users and pedestrians.

DISCREET CAMERAS

Four strategically positioned cameras - front grille, each door mirror housing and tailgate – can be specified on the. LX 570. They film up to six exterior views, which help manoeuvring both on- and off-road.

COURTESY LIGHTING

Approach the LX 570 and it recognises the key’s unique identification code. This triggers a careful ly choreographed lighting sequence which helps guide the driver and passengers to the comfort of their seats.

DOOR MIRRORS

The mirrors are electrically ad-justable and dim automatically to prevent being dazzled by following traffic. They can be heated to ensure effective de-frosting in wintery conditions.

MULTI-FUNCTION HOUSINGS

The large door mirror housings seamlessly incorporate a turn-signal indicator, puddle light and a miniature camera. They also fold in at the touch of a button and when the engine is switched off.

RAIN SENSING WIPERS

A sensor placed discreetly above the rear view mirror detects rainfall and its intensity. The wipers are activated automatically as soon as the in-built software calculates there is sufficient water to clear from the windscreen.

HEADLAMP WASHERS

For the state-of-the-art head-lights to operate with maximum effectiveness, it is essential they remain clean. High-pressure jets of water can be sprayed onto the protective lenses to wash away grit or grime at any time.

Located neatly beneath the front centre armrest, it keeps drinks, confectionary and the finest food delicacies nicely cooled on even the hottest of days.

REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT

Second seat row passengers can enjoy a full home-theatre experience. Operated by remote control, each 7" screen can play a different film or video game with the audio provided via headphones or the speaker system.

MEMORY SETTINGS

Up to three individually adjusted seat positions can be saved to memory. Not only is the seat configuration memorised by the on-board software, but also the steering column and door mirror settings.

LED INTERIOR LIGHTING

Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology provides discreet lighting for specific cabin areas, including the cockpit, second and third seat rows. Front door scuff plates, start button and the interior door handles are also illuminated.

TUMBLE MECHANISM

The second row of seats can be individually split 40-20-40. A ‘One-Touch Tumble’ mechanism lets them be quickly folded away when more storage space is required for bulkier items.

ELECTRIC STOWAGE

The third seat row (8-seater version) can be stored away automatically. Split 50:50, electric motors fold each seat flat before rotating them to the vertical storage positions.

4-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL

There are four, independent temperature control zones: Driver, front passenger, left and right sides of the second and third seat rows. Twin air conditioning units, 28 vents and diffusers ensure a consistently pleasant interior climate.

REAR CLIMATE PANEL

Conveniently positioned behind the front centre armrest, the rear climate control panel lets second seat row passengers set the individual temperature for the two rear climate zones.

MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

The larger multi-information display features high-definition graphics in colour. A wider array of vehicle data can now be accessed, with the driver able to customise the settings.

OPTITRON INSTRUMENTATION

Press the start button and the optitron instrument panel comes to life. Featuring anti-glare technology, it has crisp, white instrumentation with graduated blue illumination of the dials, gauges and multi-information display.

MULTIMEDIA DISPLAY

Positioned in the centre of the dashboard, the full-colour Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) display is ideally positioned for both driver and front seat passenger. This 8" EMV touch-screen provides intuitive control of several multimedia applications.

HDD NAVIGATION

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) navigation is fast, user-friendly and offers a variety of functionality, including split-screen, zoom and 3D style graphics. The maps are stored on the LX 570’s HDD and can be updated by an Authorised Lexus Dealer.

EXTENSIVE MENU

The initial start screen acts as a portal to individual menus for some of the most popular vehicle systems, including audio, climate and navigation. With crisp and clear graphics, the touch-screen is easy to operate.

DVD PLAYBACK

Favourite DVDs can be watched on the 8" EMV display screen while the vehicle is stationary. With audio provided by Mark Levinson®, a full home-theatre experience can be enjoyed.

BLUETOOTH®

With wireless Bluetooth® a mobile phone can be operated remotely in the LX 570. Calls can be made or received via the touch-screen, steering wheel controls or by voice command, while contacts can be viewed on the display screen.

PARKING ASSIST MONITOR

Activate the parking assist monitor and a live video of the area behind the vehicle is displayed on the touch-screen. For further assistance, on-screen guidelines illustrate the ideal path to follow. The display is complemented by audio warnings.

USB PORT AND AUX SOCKET

A variety of multi-media devices can be connected, including iPod®, via the USB port. Headphones can also be plugged in using the adjacent AUX socket.

MARK LEVINSON® AUDIO

The 19-speaker Mark Levinson® Reference Surround system delivers home-theatre quality in-vehicle entertainment. It features an AM/FM tuner, in-dash single slot CD/DVD player and a maximum of 750 watts of power output.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS

Ergonomically positioned switchgear lets the driver control a variety of vehicle systems while keeping both hands on the wheel. There are buttons for audio, display, phone and voice recognition, as well as paddle shift controls.

The Lexus Distance Plans give you and all Lexus owners peace of mind and fixed costs motoring. The Lexus Distance Plans are fully supported and approved by Toyota SA Motors. The Lexus Distance Plans are designed to give you, the motorist, a value-added product that supports your needs by containing motoring costs. Lexus Distance Plans offer all customers access to service at any Lexus dealership in South Africa and Lexus dealerships in our neighbouring countries, i.e., Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.

The Lexus Distance Plans cover all your normal operating condition services up to 4 years/100 000 km. All servicing must be carried out according to the specified service intervals stipulated in the vehicle’s Book of Life to ensure that the Distance Plan and the vehicles warranty remains valid.

All Lexus owners have an option to upgrade the Lexus Distance Plans. Lexus offers our customers various options in terms of choice of cover, dependent on individual requirements.

Our L-finesse (L = leading edge) creative language allows Lexus designers to express power and strength with great finesse - creating vehicles that are forward-looking and deeply artistic. Look closer at the LX 570 and intriguing design elements reveal themselves: the ‘spindle-shaped’ grille that reflects the latest in Lexus design and the distinctive High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED front fog lamps. Attention to detail is apparent throughout this vehicle. For example, to achieve peace and comfort at high speeds, wind noise is reduced by the meticulous design of bodywork seals, door mirrors and window frame mouldings.

5.7-LITRE PETROL ENGINE, 6-SPEED ‘PADDLE SHIFT’ TRANSMISSION

The LX 570 luxury SUV is powered by the largest engine ever fitted to a Lexus. Delivering 270 kW of power and 530 Nm of torque, it works seamlessly with a very flexible 6-speed ‘paddle shift’ automatic transmission for both dynamic and smooth gear changes. The LX 570 will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds up to a top speed of 210 km/h (electronically limited). With its V8 cylinder block die-cast in lightweight yet strong aluminium alloy, it is also an engine that will last – giving great reliability and durability. During development, Lexus engineers tested the drivetrain for 1.3 million kilometres – the equivalent of 32 times around the globe.

LEATHER SEATS, REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT

The LX 570 is a very relaxing place to be, even on the longest journeys. The leather seats are extremely comfortable (each has its own headrest) and have extra lateral support that you’ll particularly appreciate when driving off-road. The premium grade leather - that is perforated so it can ‘breathe’ – is machine-stitched for precision, yet finished and checked by a Lexus master craftsperson. A rear seat home-theatre experience is offered with the LX 570’s Rear Seat Entertainment system, with screens mounted in the backs of the front seat headrests. The LX 570 is specified with the world’s most advanced off-road technologies, including multi-terrain ABS and Crawl Control. For peerless command of wilderness conditions, Multi-Terrain Select adjusts multiple vehicle systems to best negotiate the chosen terrain: Loose Rock, Mud/Sand, Mogul, Rock or Rock/Dirt. At low speeds, Crawl Control intelligently applies throttle and braking applications – optimised by multi-terrain ABS. This lets the driver focus exclusively on steering the LX 570 in the toughest of off-road conditions.

MULTI-TERRAIN MONITOR

Miniature cameras are strategically positioned in both of the door mirror housings, the front grille and tailgate. These relay up to four live images to the Multi-Terrain Monitor, providing a near 360° view of the area around the vehicle. This helps the driver spot rocks, ruts, crevices or sheer drops that might otherwise be obscured from view.

FOUR-WHEEL ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL

Intelligent control of air-suspension technology automatically adjusts the ground clearance at each wheel. By making continuous, individual adjustments according to the terrain, this Lexus world-first technology ensures optimum off-road vehicle balance and control.

PERMANENT ALL-WHEEL DRIVE

Featur ing f ront and rear differentials, 3 propeller shafts and TORSEN® Limited Slip Differential, robust permanent all-wheel drive is at the heart of the LX 570’s supreme off-road ability. The supreme off-road ability of the LX 570 does not compromise on-road driving composure. Indeed, its advanced electronic traction control technologies, sophisticated adaptive suspension and permanent all-wheel drive also contribute to agile, yet remarkably comfortable, on-road handling and performance.

ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION (AVS)

A leading edge technology contributing to both on- and off-road performance, Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) can adjust vehicle height as appropriate. On-road, AVS reduces ride height at higher speeds to improve aerodynamic performance. And at rest, it smoothly lowers by about 150 mm to ease exit and entry.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION / BRAKE ASSIST

Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) works with ABS to ensure optimum brake-force is applied to each wheel. The Brake Assist System comes into action during emergency braking and increases brake-force automatically if required.

HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL (HAC)

When starting off on a slope, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) automatically maintains brake pressure to help prevent the LX 570 from slipping forwards or backwards. HAC works both on-road and off-road and helps reduce driver fatigue.

ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL (ATRC)

ATRC increases the LX 570’s ability to grip the road, especially when starting off or accelerating on uneven or slippery surfaces. Corrective measures are applied the moment the risk of wheel-spin is detected, thereby maintaining traction.

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC)

VSC helps prevent the loss of vehicle control, particularly when cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid. Stability is improved and vehicle speed reduced by the selective application of brakes and, or power reduction.

ISO-FIX SEAT ANCHORS

LX 570 drivers with small children will appreciate the added security of ISO-FIX seat mountings. These are used to quickly attach child seats in a safe and secure fashion.

8 x THREE-POINT SEATBELTS

Each seat is specified with a 3-point seat belt. For the third row, centre seat this necessitated an innovative design solution with the belt retracting fully into the roof lining when not in use.

CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAGS

LX 570 airbags are sensor controlled and inflate depending on the intensity and direction of impact. Curtain shield airbags run the entire length of the side windows to protect occupants in all three seat rows. They inflate within milli-seconds of a side impact, or in the unlikely event of the vehicle rolling over.

ENERGY ABSORPTION

In developing the LX 570, Lexus engineers also sought to enhance the impact absorption rate, a normally contradictory characteristic of strength and rigidity. They achieved this without compromise by implementing an entirely new concept. The LX 570 can absorb and disperse the energy of a 5.0 ton impact – a new standard for a vehicle of this type.

COMPREHENSIVE AIRBAG PROTECTION

The LX 570 is specified with a shield of ten airbags to help protect all occupants. In addition to dual-stage head airbags, there are knee and side airbags for driver and front passenger. Row two outer seat passengers have side airbags, while curtain shield airbags complete the comprehensive protection.

ULTRA-STRONG CONSTRUCTION

Immense strength and exceptional torsional rigidity are essential to supreme off-road performance. And the LX 570 sets new standards here. Compared to its predecessor, much higher tensile steel is used and the frame area is significantly increased. This ultra-strong construction not only benefits off-road performance, but also makes the LX 570 an extremely safe and robust vehicle

High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights with, Auto-matic High-Beam (AHB) provide exceptional illumination. Light Emitting Diode (LED) Daytime Running Lights ensure the LX 570 is visible to other road- users and pedestrians.

DISCREET CAMERAS

Four strategically positioned cameras - front grille, each door mirror housing and tailgate – can be specified on the. LX 570. They film up to six exterior views, which help manoeuvring both on- and off-road.

COURTESY LIGHTING

Approach the LX 570 and it recognises the key’s unique identification code. This triggers a careful ly choreographed lighting sequence which helps guide the driver and passengers to the comfort of their seats.

DOOR MIRRORS

The mirrors are electrically ad-justable and dim automatically to prevent being dazzled by following traffic. They can be heated to ensure effective de-frosting in wintery conditions.

MULTI-FUNCTION HOUSINGS

The large door mirror housings seamlessly incorporate a turn-signal indicator, puddle light and a miniature camera. They also fold in at the touch of a button and when the engine is switched off.

RAIN SENSING WIPERS

A sensor placed discreetly above the rear view mirror detects rainfall and its intensity. The wipers are activated automatically as soon as the in-built software calculates there is sufficient water to clear from the windscreen.

HEADLAMP WASHERS

For the state-of-the-art head-lights to operate with maximum effectiveness, it is essential they remain clean. High-pressure jets of water can be sprayed onto the protective lenses to wash away grit or grime at any time.

MEMORY SETTINGS

Up to three individually adjusted seat positions can be saved to memory. Not only is the seat configuration memorised by the on-board software, but also the steering column and door mirror settings.

LED INTERIOR LIGHTING

Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology provides discreet lighting for specific cabin areas, including the cockpit, second and third seat rows. Front door scuff plates, start button and the interior door handles are also illuminated.

TUMBLE MECHANISM

The second row of seats can be individually split 40-20-40. A ‘One-Touch Tumble’ mechanism lets them be quickly folded away when more storage space is required for bulkier items.

ELECTRIC STOWAGE

The third seat row (8-seater version) can be stored away automatically. Split 50:50, electric motors fold each seat flat before rotating them to the vertical storage positions.

4-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL

There are four, independent temperature control zones: Driver, front passenger, left and right sides of the second and third seat rows. Twin air conditioning units, 28 vents and diffusers ensure a consistently pleasant interior climate.

REAR CLIMATE PANEL

Conveniently positioned behind the front centre armrest, the rear climate control panel lets second seat row passengers set the individual temperature for the two rear climate zones.

Press the start button and the optitron instrument panel comes to life. Featuring anti-glare technology, it has crisp, white instrumentation with graduated blue illumination of the dials, gauges and multi-information display.

MULTIMEDIA DISPLAY

Positioned in the centre of the dashboard, the full-colour Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) display is ideally positioned for both driver and front seat passenger. This 8" EMV touch-screen provides intuitive control of several multimedia applications.

HDD NAVIGATION

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) navigation is fast, user-friendly and offers a variety of functionality, including split-screen, zoom and 3D style graphics. The maps are stored on the LX 570’s HDD and can be updated by an Authorised Lexus Dealer.

EXTENSIVE MENU

The initial start screen acts as a portal to individual menus for some of the most popular vehicle systems, including audio, climate and navigation. With crisp and clear graphics, the touch-screen is easy to operate.

DVD PLAYBACK

Favourite DVDs can be watched on the 8" EMV display screen while the vehicle is stationary. With audio provided by Mark Levinson®, a full home-theatre experience can be enjoyed.

BLUETOOTH®

With wireless Bluetooth® a mobile phone can be operated remotely in the LX 570. Calls can be made or received via the touch-screen, steering wheel controls or by voice command, while contacts can be viewed on the display screen.

PARKING ASSIST MONITOR

Activate the parking assist monitor and a live video of the area behind the vehicle is displayed on the touch-screen. For further assistance, on-screen guidelines illustrate the ideal path to follow. The display is complemented by audio warnings.

USB PORT AND AUX SOCKET

A variety of multi-media devices can be connected, including iPod®, via the USB port. Headphones can also be plugged in using the adjacent AUX socket.

MARK LEVINSON® AUDIO

The 19-speaker Mark Levinson® Reference Surround system delivers home-theatre quality in-vehicle entertainment. It features an AM/FM tuner, in-dash single slot CD/DVD player and a maximum of 750 watts of power output.

The Lexus Distance Plans are designed to give you, the motorist, a value-added product that supports your needs by containing motoring costs. Lexus Distance Plans offer all customers access to service at any Lexus dealership in South Africa and Lexus dealerships in our neighbouring countries, i.e., Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.

The Lexus Distance Plans cover all your normal operating condition services up to 4 years/100 000 km. All servicing must be carried out according to the specified service intervals stipulated in the vehicle’s Book of Life to ensure that the Distance Plan and the vehicles warranty remains valid.
