Please contact Chair, Anna C. if you are willing to join the committee. [email protected]
SPONSORS- CoDA Texas is in need of male and female sponsors to help guide new members through the 12 Steps of CoDA. If you are interested in sponsoring, please make your meeting aware and give contact information to be identified as sponsor-available. It is imperative that sponsor-ready new members be matched with willing and same-gendered members of CoDA who have already gone through their 12 steps in order for each member to have a successful journey out of codependency. Remember that the 12th step asks us to “carry this message to others”. What better way of doing that than offering to sponsor someone through their steps toward a “spiritual awakening” of their own?

Codependency is such an insidious thing, growing with us in our differing forms of “functional” and dysfunctional families. We see it on TV, we learn it in school, we watch our parents model it, we follow after our siblings, we pick it up from friends and the expectations of others. Before we know it, we have many of the patterns and aren’t always able to tell when we started the behaviors that led to the patterns. Well, now that you’ve found CoDA and are able to relate to the stories, feelings and experiences of other codependents, you can navigate your way to a healthier and more balanced life full of patterns of recovery instead of patterns of codependency.
I would invite you all to download the Patterns of Codependency and Recovery to get the most out of your journey. Learn about your patterns of denial, low self-esteem, compliance, control and avoidance to get a clear picture of how you have been, are and how you intend to be. You can do it!
As you go through your steps, the patterns can be helpful all along the way. Whether you are working toward making amends or are just trying to keep your “house clean”. The patterns can always help point things out and keep you aware of how to keep in line with your mission and can help you recognize the other choice, away from codependency and towards recovery.
