It is with humble gratitude to all of you that I am here today. Everyone present

has been with me along this journey. No matter how long I have known you-all my

life, or for just a day- you have been a tremendous influence on me and for which I am

profoundly grateful. I owe a great deal of thanks to my family and friends. The

encouragement and support you have given to me from the very beginning has been

overwhelming. The sacrifices you made to ensure my successful journey over the

rough seas of life have truly touched me. Thank you.

I would like to give special thanks to my parents. Although they have been

called to eternal life, I am certain that they are here among us today. Without the

sacrifices they made, the love they showed to me, and the values and morals which

they instilled in me, I would not be the person I am. Thanks Mom and Dad from the

bottom of my heart.

Thanks also to the Diocesan Curia staff who have worked so hard in planning

this day, and going above and beyond to make sure that it goes smoothly.

To the clergy and religious serving the Diocese of Covington, thank you!

Whether I have worked with you or not, I know that you have been there for me and

encouraging me through your prayers and sacrifices.

Bishop Foys, thank you for being such a kind and understanding father to me.

No words can express how much I appreciate the love you have shown me and the

support you have given to me throughout my journey.

Finally, I would like to give sincere thanks to God for the gift of my life, my

vocation, my family and friends, and for all the faithful of the diocese. Without your

prayers and the knowledge of his love for me and each of you, this day would not be

possible. Please be assured of my prayers for you, and please pray for me.

In the Peace and Love of Christ,

Deacon Joe
