August 2014

At first the Sycamore family seem mad, but it is not long before you real-ize that if they are mad, then the rest of the world is madder. The shock sustained by Mr. and Mrs. Kirby, who are invited to eat cheap food, shows Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question.

The Sycamores find it hard to understand Al-ice's view. Tony knows the Sycamores live the right way with love and care for each other, while his own family is the one that's crazy.

“You Can’t Take It with You” won the 1937 Pulit-zer Prize for Drama and was adapted for the screen in 1938, winning the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Di-rector. The production is done in association with Dramatist Play Services and is written by George Kaufman and Moss Hart.

Back Alley Productions to Hold Auditions “Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde”

Dr. Jekyll knows all too well that good and evil exists in the heart of every man, woman and child. After an experiment goes awry, Jekyll’s own dual nature grows out of control, making it hard for him to even recognize himself.

Back Alley Productions invites you to audition for “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” which will have the famous doctor-turned-madman portrayed by several actors and actresses over the span of the play to show the Hyde that is in us all. The cast can be as many as 19 and there are roles for both women and men - ages 15 and up

Auditions are set for Aug. 18 and 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Colonnade, with performances set for Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee set for

Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.

This thrilling new take on Robert Louis Stevenson's dark tale of depravity and horror is perfect for the Halloween season. Set on the foggy streets of London, it will offer local actors the chance to bring the monster of Hyde alive in their own unique way.

As the community prepares to don their own alter egos for Hal-loween, The Colonnade will be preparing for high suspense as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde fight for supremacy, a battle not com-pletely unlike the good and evil competing in us all.

For questions on the show, call director Kaylee Smith at (706) 621-2870 or email us at [email protected].
