[MEGA I-ffiALTH CAMP AT RLBN 1 tlditorialOMainstreaming Disabilities

Raising awareness Clnd sensitizing ourselves is amere start, since we are trying to become a trulyinclusive society. We are then to pursue actively theimplementation of framed policies to ensure thebenefits of mainstreaming the disabled persons .. Sothat all m.embers of our society enjoy the benefitsfully &freely as membc]'s not only for our self helpgroups but also as member of the wider family ofBISWA. In such a way the human rights of all ourfamily members should be protected (Ind upheld. Onthe othe,' hand stigma and discrimination in anyform must be eliminated. Since we all crave forinclusion, 50 the inclusion to be observed in everyrespect. A merefincmcial indusion is not enoughforover all development of our society) which havemany deprivations in its manifolds. BISWA haslaunched this new initiative to erzal>le people Whoare HIVpositive or who have a disability to becomemembers of its' SHGs. It is a shift from previouspolicies, under which such persons were excluded. Now we realize such exclusion is a deprivation andwe must take care of it. We would like to "eiterutethat it is a mere beginning and "we have miles to gobe/ore we sleep". Such mainstreClming is the ultimateresponsibility of we, NGOs, as the government maygive a dictum in this field & the real doers are we.Moreover such mainstreaming would be the orderof the day in the ensuing era, where deprivation inmany afields are to be identified. Obviollsly the neworder world expect'S such interventions from NGOsector, like ours.
