MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.The Leader in the non-violent campaign against Inequality of blacks. Was a remarkable speaker and captured thousands with his vernacular. King was assasinated.

W.E.B. DUBOISFounded the NAACP. The NAACP was a organization to help colored people in court . The organization’s goal was simple; gain equality for an entire race.

PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY John F. Kennedy was the president during the Civil Rights Movement.  He helped pass laws to make sure African Americans could vote and get a better education.  These laws ended segregation in public places

THURGOOD MARSHALLThe first African American to be a Justice in the United States Supreme Court.

MALCOLM XEarly in his career he was the leader in the militaristic civil rights movement. Eventually he started to move towards non- violence. He was assassinated not long after he started promoting non- violence.

ROSA PARKSFamous woman who refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white individual. She was later arrested for not giving up her seat.
