The Latin American Decade: An Insider's Perspective, by Fabiano Cid (Ccaps) and Cecilia Iros (IMTT)The past two years were paramount for the positioning of Latin America as a powerhouse. While the strongest economies in the world were suffering from the financial crisis, Latin America not only remained largely unaffected, but actually registered economic growth. Sound economic policies, market reforms and political stability have reshaped the social and economic landscape paving the way for the decline in poverty and the narrowing of the information gap through the penetration of new technologies. We have also seen the strengthening of the so-called Multilatinas, Latin American multinational firms with an increasingly larger reach abroad. How can localization and globalization stakeholders benefit from these new developments and what are the opportunities created for both regional and global players.
