• LED lighting @Westborough single-use center of excellence: savings of 5,700 kWh per year.• Removed printed instructions from use on all chromatography resin

packs-- savings of ~1,000 kg paper per year.• Produced significant research into the origins and potential

amelioration of single-use systems environmental burden, such as through the GE Healthcare Corporate EcoAssessment unit

Problem: “waste” generated during manufacturing processes

Response: Entegris has certified manufacturing facilities to ISO 14001. ISO 14001 maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

Result: Using ISO 14001, established zero polymer waste process for certain facilities in which polymeric scrap is sorted by resin type and then used, either by Entegris, or by partners, to make other parts.

• switched delivery of polypropylene from sacks to silos|• plastic waste resulting from our bag manufacture is used to

generate energy by incineration

• Collect polymer waste and separated by material type, such as polyamide and polyethylene, for recycling as secondary materials.

Building Improvements

• Converted all warehouse & manufacturing lighting to T8 fluorescent– 1/3 less energy & easier to read equipment & product labels

• New roof to prepare for solar panel system – Added 2” of solid insulation

– The new roof surface was painted white to reflect light and heat

• Window Replacement– Double barrier for increased efficiency

Solar Project: A Bright Idea

• 1 MW of power generated– NewAge uses 2

MW of power a year• 4,082 solar panels• All American-made

components
