Thank you one and all for your dedication to our Council. And thank you to the officers who have served their term, and continue their support when called upon. We have a large council, and help is needed from our membership to accomplish our charitable mission of support for our parishes, our Catholic schools, our young people, and our community. Our Charity Bingo can always use more help, and our Monday Bingo Kitchen also needs help from time to time. We have spent a lot of money for catered meals at our Fraternal Meetings, and I am asking for volunteer cooks to help prepare meals, so please step up and support your Council. We are blessed by all the wonderful families that donate desserts for our bingo and our socials, thank you very much. We are also blessed to have all the great volunteers that give their time and talent to support our charitable causes. I look forward to a new Fraternal Year, working with our Officers and Directors to continue the great things we have accomplished. Thank you all for the support you members have given me. Together with God’s help we can accomplish anything. From the Faithful Navigator’s Corner: Worthy Sir Knights, I am honored to be elected as the Faithful Navigator for 2019/20. Thank you for the outstanding support. Many thanks to the outgoing Faithful Navigator and his leadership team. Kudos to Jerome and the worthy officers and committee directors for their devotion to the Patriotic Order and the local Catholic Community. I am especially grateful to the Assembly for supporting the for JBSA Lackland AFB Council #17179 in the purchase of the council officer jewels. Your support to transfer the 4th Degree members from Lackland AFB into the New Braunfels Assembly #1791 is the first step for us to establish the first-ever military Assembly at JBSA Lackland. All we need is 20 Sir Knights and we will be a standalone military Assembly. This is the vision of our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson and Supreme Master Dennis Stoddard. With this, let’s stay the course togethers as we will need to help the military Assembly stand up financially with “seed money”. This way, the military Assembly can perform an officers’ installation ceremony posthaste with their own jewels and Assembly banner on hand for the venue. Although this is a way down the road, but together we need to plan accordingly. As it relates to the journey for Lackland AFB standing up a military Assembly, the Sir Knights on that end are working to host a 4th Degree Exemplification Ceremony and dinner at the base. The timeline for the venue is as follows: 8 February 2020 for the 4th Degree Exemplification at Lackland AFB Gateway Chapel (1000-1530 hrs). Mass will be held at the Lackland AFB Gateway Chapel (1700-1800). The Consolidated Gateway Club at Lackland AFB is reserved (1830-2100) for the dinner and certificate presentation. If we time it right, we could stand the military Assembly, which means our Supreme Master and Vice Supreme Master will attend to make the charter presentation at the banquet. Please mark your calendar’s so we have maximum participation from the Sir Knights of New Braunfels. The hosting of a 4th Degree Exemplification Ceremony at JBSA Lackland is breaking new ground and our Assembly #1791 is on the cutting edge as the action officers of making this venue happen. All facilities have been reserved so I just need more will helping hands. For those that do not have base access, we will carpool together in order to make the venue successful. On a similar note, I would like your help in selecting dates for hosting a 4th Degree Exemplification in the fall 2019 in New Braunfels. The following are the proposed dates that our District Master #2 provided: October 12; October 19; November 2; or November 16. We can discuss further at the upcoming Assembly #1791 planning session meeting on 29 June at 0800 hrs at the New Braunfels Knights Hall. For the upcoming planning meeting on 29 June, all Knights are invited to this planning session. Because we work so closing with the New Braunfels 3rd Degree Council, I’d like to invite them to the venue. The goal is creating a strategic calendar, which maps out the Faith In Action and Patriotic programs, so our Assembly can earn Star Assembly, which is a Supreme recognition award. My last Assembly in Japan earned this particular award. Assembly #3372 earned the coveted award. Finally, I will sign-off for now. I am looking forward to see each of you at the upcoming planning session meeting on 29 June at 0800 hrs at the New Braunfels Knights Hall, and then again at the upcoming Assembly meeting on 13 July 2019 at 19 hrs. Vivat Jesus! Fraternally, ~Will WILLIAM M. VILLEGAS II 2019/20 Assembly #1791 Faithful Navigator
