ResearchWe carried out research on how to use pictures.• What do they mean to people?• Are you using the right kind of picture?• Do you really need to use pictures?

Research

We found out a lot of information by testing out other forms that had already been made easy read.

They did not really work!!

Designing our leafletWe learnt new skills by taking photographs of the important people involved with the Swale District Partnership group. The pictures we took were used in the leaflet.

Designing our postersWe all learnt new computer skills while we were designing our posters.

The end productThe Swale District Partnership Group was very pleased with the work we did. Stewart and Holly were paid for their hard work and everyone learnt new skills.

What we decided to do nextEveryone really enjoyed the work they had done and all said they would like to carry on making other information easy to read.So we set out to find more work!!

Other projectsThen the Kent Probation Service gave us some work to complete. We learnt about community orders and bail.We got paid for this work as well.

Finding a nameWe started to get a lot of work and decided we needed to find ourselves a name. People voted on a poll and the winner was ….

Our flyerWe needed to promote ourselves so we had a flyer designed to tell people what we can do for them.

Moving on….

Now that we had a name and a leaflet we needed to plan ahead.We planned a team day to talk about our action plan.

Team DayWe talked about the laws we follow being part of Jargon Busters.Laura explained how we can change Jargon Busters into a social firm in the future.

Action PlanWe started work on our Action Plan and decided who was going to be responsible for each action.

Looking for FundingLaura supported us to answer questions and fill in a funding form. We found this hard! The funding form needs Jargon Busting.

Working in PartnershipWe have been working with Kent Libraries.We have put together an A to Z book in Health and Fitness.It will be in the libraries from January 2010.

Our Vision

In the future Jargon Busters will become a social firm and provide employment for people with and without learning disabilities.
