It's been two weeks since D-Dayand we are pushing through to

Germany. We went by a beautifulchurch that was badly damaged

by bombs. We have been fightinglike crazy but have not taken

25 miles yet.

It's July 5, 1944. I went on a patrollast night and captured a Germansoldier. My commanding officer

will question him.

It's July 14, 1944. We hold the ridge

and the Germans want to take it. We shot at them and they firedback with tanks and flamethrowers but

we were able to hold the ridge and

the Germans retreated.
