What is the Jobs Rated Almanac?

• An annual publication that rates various careers in America

• Begun in 1988

• Uses statistics from the U.S. Census and Dept of Labor and professional organizations

• Jobs are ranked according to income, stress, physical demands, potential growth, job security, and work environment.

JRA’s editor comments:

• There is no one perfect career!

• Most careers have pros/cons--(ex: hi pay/hi stress; lo stress, lo pay)

• The side by side comparison of jobs can make some people think seriously about what they think they would like to do for a career.
