This July, ECCE Bed and Breakfast will begin its 10th year operating as the area’s premiere B&B. Its unique location has been a key element for its success. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Upper Delaware River Valley, visitors get a true eagle’s eye view of the stunning river valley below.
In The BeginningECCE (pronounced et-chay and Latin for “behold”) is owned and operated by Kurt Kreider
and Alan Rosenblatt, Alan and Kurt were attracted to the beauty of the area in 1985 as weekend residents in Highland Lake. In 2003, they discovered this incredible Barryville property. With a passion for gardening, culinary arts, home décor and entertaining, opening a bed and breakfast was a perfect match. Originally a private residence, they renovated the house to create the B&B. Some changes included whirlpool tubs, in-room refreshment centers, WIFI, new decks and hiking trails on ECCE’s 60 acres.
The VisionAlan & Kurt wanted ECCE to be a memorable experience and destination location. ECCE’s
unique offerings include their afternoon guest reception with beverages and hors d’ouvres. Popular tasty tidbits are grilled marinated homegrown veggies and tapas margherita.
ECCE’s unique breakfast fare with over 20 made-to-order selections is a highlight of the stay. The menu incorporates the spectacular view with its “Eggs in the Clouds Benedict”
Breakfast and the guest reception are offered outdoors, overlooking the beautiful river valley.
For ECCE’s returning guests, Alan & Kurt wanted to ensure each of their visits was new and exciting. They partnered with local area artists to establish a rotating art exhibit. Guests have an opportunity to enjoy indoor/outdoor metal and stone sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, paintings and photography. The exhibit is ever changing and keeps the B&B fresh for its loyal clientele.
ECCE Bed & Breakfast
Celebrating Its 10th Anniversary!
An Anniversary InvitationEven if you are not an overnight
guest, the hosts invite you to drop by to see the view and enjoy the artwork.
Ideal times are weekends between 11AM-3PM Advance notice is always appreciated.
Kurt & Alan hope to celebrate ECCE’s 10th anniversary with you real soon!
Awards & RecognitionEvery year since 2006, ECCE
has been voted “The Best Bed & Breakfast” by The River Reporters Readers Choice Awards. Nationally, ECCE was selected by The Discerning Traveler as one of its select “Romantic Hideaways” on the eastern seaboard. Currently, ECCE is rated among the Top B&B’s in the entire Catskill Region by Trip Advisor.
