0 Clydesdales The Clydesdale horses you can see pull the Horse Drawn Tram across to Granite Island. These are the paddocks in which they have their 'rest and recreation' time when they are

not on duty.

0 Inman River floodplain The images below show how different this floodplain area looks from winter to summer. This area is a Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) woodland. It is frequently flooded with the water table very close to the surface. Red Gums rely on this cycle of wet and dry to flourish.

f) Bird Hide Sit a moment, listen and watch the birdlife around you. Can you identify any of the birds listed in the bird hide?

Q Victor Harbor Cemetery Victor Harbor was settled in 1839 and the Cemetery commenced soon after in 1860. Many members of our pioneering families are buried here.

This is the end of the walk and from this point to return to the start, you merely retrace your steps. When you recross the wooden bridge turn left on the path and continue back to

Barker Reserve.

Remember the bush walkers code:

• leave behind only footprints

• take only photographs

• respect the flora and fauna around you

so that others may also enjoy the pleasure.

The Inman River Walk

This walk is an easy stroll following the banks of

the Inman River. It traverses natural bushland

and although the path is mown, we do suggest

the wearing of good walking shoes and especially

in warmer months being alert to the possibility of

snakes sunning themselves on the path.

We also suggest you carry enough water during

warmer months- approximately 1 litre per person.

We ask walkers to respect private property in

the area, and report any damage to the path and

- surrounds to the Council or the Visitor Centre,

so that it may be repaired for the safety and

enjoyment of others.

For other walks in the area please look at our

other brochures on the walking stand in the Visitor Centre or the Civic Centre.
