Η τέχνη αντιδρούσε πάντοτε στις κρίσεις με αυξημένη ευαισθησία. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, η Ευρώπη, και όχι μόνο, έχει πληγεί από την γενικευμένη κρίση, η οποίαεπηρεάζει βαθειά τον κοινωνικό ιστό, τόσο σε συλλογικό όσο και ατομικό επίπεδο.Σ΄αυτό το πλαίσιο, η καλλιτεχνική δημιουργικότητα και επινοητικότητα –ιδιαίτερα η ικανότητα των καλλιτεχνών να οραματιστούν το μέλλον, τόσο σε επίπεδο κριτικήςόσο και σε επίπεδο αισθητικής– αναδύονται ως αναμορφωτική δύναμη.
Το project REALISE θέτει ερωτήματα σχετικά με το πώς οι σύγχρονοι καλλιτέχνες αντιμετωπίζουν αυτό το αποσταθεροποιητικό και γενικευμένο φαινόμενο: Ποιες όψεις της κρίσης προσεγγίζουν; Τι είδους ιδέες και εναλλακτικά μοντέλα αντίστασηςμπορούν να διαμορφωθούν; Πώς μπορεί η κρίση να συμβάλει στην προώθηση στρατηγικών αντίστασης; Με ποιους τρόπους η ίδια η τέχνη και ο πολιτισμός αντιμετωπίζουν κρίση; Υπάρχει κάτι που θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηριστεί ΔημιουργικήΕυφυία εν καιρώ Κρίσης (Creative Crisis Intelligence);
