Junior Breakdance Workshops Dancing isn’t just about tutus and ballet shoes – breakdance is funky

and energetic and fun for boys

and girls. Don’t worry if you’ve never done any dancing before, there are no wrong moves! The

team from Step It Up Dance will be on hand to teach you cool moves to show off to your mates.

Junior Streetdance Then, when you’ve got your breath back, why not try some Street Da

nce? Scotland’s national youth

dance agency YDance will teach you some slick tricks based on a new piece of choreography

specially made for the Cultural Olympiad, and then you can watch a team of trained dancers

perform A Million Eyes on You on the Eastgate stage.

Senior Breakdance Workshops Step it Up Dance use modern teaching methods to help you learn and improveyour Breakdance moves, with body popping, locking, flips and other cool tricks.

Senior StreetdanceYDance provide an expert introduction to different types of Street Dance. Brilliantly coolfor boys and girls, these are moves that you’ll want to show off to your friends later. Andafter the workshop you get to see A Million Eyes on You performed by the team ofyoung dancers for whom the piece was choreographed.

James Campbell’s Comedy 4 KidsJames Campbell is a stand up comedian for children over 6,

their parents and anyone who

likes comedy. His show may cover ways to make parsnips interesting, new world record

attempts in badger hurdling and doing loop the loop with his 93 year old Auntie Histamine.

The show may also involve three dancing oatcakes called Celia, Amelia and Deal-or-no-

Delia. There are no naughty words, and side effects may include your sides hurting …

Peace Love and PotatoesA new show from the inimitable poet, comedian, former busker and occasional DJ John Hegley brings

together poetry, prose and music on some themes close to his heart. John’s a regular performer at the

Edinburgh Fringe, and explores topics as diverse as dog hair, potatoes, handkerchiefs and the misery of

human existence. Come and enjoy an evening of unexpected delights.

Use your imagination to make an image of yourself which will surprise you and your friends.Add the googly eyes for a finishing touch!

You will need:

• a grown-up to help you with

fiddly bits (ask nicely though!)

• pva glue mixture (see figure 1)

• scissors

• scrap cardboard

• some old magazines or catalogues

• and of course your googly eyes(available from our box office)

Cut clothes out ofanything you like -an old magazine, anewspaper, cerealbox - anythingreally! Cut out aface colour. Try funhair made from apicture of grass ora waterfall, electricwires orchimneypots.

We made the hair out of

bits of old jumpers!

HINT: Once your figure

is dry you can add two

more coats of neat pva

glue front and back. Let

the glue dry between

coats. This will make

your mini me much

stronger.

You can also add

your own shapes by

cutting out a mouth.

When you’ve made your mini me, please bring it in to us here at theEastgate. We’ll look after it carefully, and then during the ImaginariumFestival, come back and see if you can spot it inside the theatre!
