IECEx Certified Equipment Scheme

This system provides an:IECEx Test Report (ExTR)IECEx Quality Assessment Report (QAR)IECEx Certificate of Conformity (CoC)

To obtain this type of certificate, the manufacturer prepares his application and submits it to the relevant IECEx Certification Body (ExCB).

Samples of the equipment will be tested by the laboratory of the ExCB and a factory inspection will be organized.

On-going periodic audits (factory inspections) ensure that the stringent standards are being maintained by the manufacturer.

IECEx Conformity Mark Licenses

This system allows licensed applicants to apply the IECEx Mark to products, packaging and promotional material for equipment covered by a valid Equipment Certificate of Conformity to demonstrate to users and consumers compliance with the requirements of the relevant IEC Standard (s).

IECEx Certified Service Facilities Scheme

and assesses and certifies that organizations and workshops that provide Ex equipment installation, inspection, repairs, maintenance, overhaul and reclamation services to the Ex industry work in accordance with the requirements of IEC International Standards IEC 60079-14 and IEC 60079-19.

The system includes on-site audits prior to issuing the IECExCertificate and periodic audits to ensure Ex equipment service processes continue to comply with requirements and provides a:

IECEx Service Facility Certificate of Conformity (CoC)

IECEx Certified Persons Scheme

that demonstrate to the International Ex industry that the Certified Person has been assessed against the competency prerequisites needed to properly implement the safety requirements based on the suite of IEC International Standards covering explosive atmospheres, e.g. the IEC 60079 and IEC 61241 series of standards

So that you don’t cut yourself, there are few ‘blades’ that the IECEX Secretariat ‘lock down’:

Please contact the IECEx Secretariat regarding:• Adding “U” suffix to Equipment Component CoCs

• Editing of CoCs after 14 day after issue date period

• Re-setting CoCs to “Draft” to allow editorial corrections

• Deletion of unwanted draft CoCs, ExTRs and QARs

• Cancellation and Suspension of CoCs

and some other safeguards …IECEx System – Security aspects • All Certificates from all ExCBs from all programs are located in the

one place – this the On-line System

• The On-line System version is the MASTER .

• All Document Numbers are automatically created by the System

• CoCs and reports can only be deleted by IECEx Secretariat

• Editing only allowed during first 14 days after issue date

• Supported and reviewed by technical Secretariat

• All On-line System data backed-up by IEC in Geneva

• Password protection with different levels of access22
