We have ushered in New Year 2019 with great hope and expectations. The year 2019 will be indeed a rewarding

year for ICFAI University Jaipur as we are confident that admissions to all courses

will scale to a new level. Thanks to innovation in courses and intense branding

exercises. We are happy to present the second issue of “The ICFAI University

Jaipur News-Time”, capturing all events having taken place during the intermediate period. Once again, wishing to you a very happy and prosperous new

UG Fresher’s Party

A sumptuous fresher’s party ‘Novato De Fiesta – 2018’ for undergraduate students was organized to make

every fresher of The ICFAI University, Jaipur feel like an integral part of the ICFAI family, and he/she readies

to take on challenges of the year ahead.

Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the students, manifesting youth and enthusiasm

at its full flow. With pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, the party was a blast. The

excitement augmented with the dances, singing and games.

IBS Alumni Meet 2018

The Alumni Meet - Flagship event of the IBS Alumni Federation was organized on the 20th October 2018 at Hotel

Hilton, Jaipur. The event witnessed cheering participation of 66 IBS Alumni from Jaipur, Gurgaon, Bangalore,

Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata along with their families. Adorned with scintillating cultural

performances and fun filled games, the evening was a memorable event for all. The alumni interacted with

their peers and relished the experience sharing.

National Workshop on Fundamentals of Linux

A One day National Workshop on Fundamentals of Linux was organized by ICFAI Tech School in association with

CDAC-ACTS Jaipur on 31st October 2018 at the ICFAI University, Jaipur.

Resource Person: Mr. Lalit Matoliya

Objective: The main objective of the workshop was to impart training to make the attendees familiar with Linux

and allied solutions for handling and analyzing the same. The program focused on practical aspects and included

examples relevant to the current industry requirements. About 120 students and faculty members from the

department of Computer Science Engineering attended the workshop.

India Innovation Challenge Design Contest (IICDC)

Launched by Texas Instruments India

The India Innovation Challenge Design Contest (IICDC), launched by Texas Instruments India, in association with

the Department of Science and Technology and Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore was organized by

ICFAI Tech School on 22nd November 2018 at the ICFAI University, Jaipur.

Coordinator: Dr. Rana Mukherji

The event was an endeavor to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit that drives students from idea to invention to

industry, helping them become successful entrepreneurs. It has provided young tech entrepreneurs with an

ecosystem and support to nurture their entrepreneurial spirit and an opportunity to leverage their talent and

convert their innovation to a startup.

National Workshop on Big Data Hadoop

One day National Workshop on Big Data Hadoop was organized by ICFAI Tech School, in association with CDAC-

ACTS Jaipur on 28th November 2018 at the ICFAI University, Jaipur.

Resource Person: Mr. Sarthak Acharjee

Objective: The main objective of the workshop was to impart training on Big Data and Hadoop Technology

keeping in view the rising need for the same. About 120 students and faculty members from the department of

Computer Science Engineering attended the workshop.

Visit of Law Students to Police Station

“One can well imagine the tough task for the jail authorities to control or have a proper vigil on

criminals”

With the vision to inculcate practical knowledge, a visit to Jawahar Nagar Police Station was organized for law

students. Circle Officer ACP Pushpendra Singh Rathore and SHO Inspector Raisal Singh make them understand

the physical edifice of a police station, the innumerable duties performed by police officers, an ephemeral note

about the records and case diaries and Mallkhana has also been explicated in detail along with lodging of an

online FIR and other activities of police officers which has really broadened the mind-set of the students.

Debate on ‘Economic Reservation in India Is A Boon Or Bane’

Recently 103rd constitutional amendment was made for providing economic reservation to the citizens of India

which was challenged in the Supreme Court through a writ. Hence, as a burning topic “Economic reservation

in India is a boon or bane”, a debate competition was organized for the undergraduate students.

Visit of Law Students to NGO “RUWA”

“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal”

As a part of practical training and legal knowhow with the aim of motivating the young law students and the

vision to inculcate the virtue of love and compassion and to sensitize towards the needs of the underprivileged

section of the society, a trip to a NGO ‘Shakti Stambh’ ‘Rajasthan University Women Association (RUWA)’ had

been organized by ICFAI Law School. The committee members of RUWA addressed the students and briefed

them about their object, challenges along with their different working cells such as academic cell, family

counseling cell, Bulletin and Website cell; Distressed women and Legal cell; Rehabilitation cell and 24 hours Help

line and also persuade them to create awareness and environment for social justice and empowerment towards

women in society.

Parents Teachers Meet

ICFAI University Jaipur organized PTM on 15th October 2018 (for PG Programs) and on 2nd January 2019 (for

UG Programs) to enhance the association and partnership with the guardians of our students. This was an

attempt to bring the faculty members and guardians together to discuss and deliberate upon the academic and

co-scholastic performance and allied development needs of students. The initiative was well taken and much

appreciated by the parents.

Kite Festival

The tradition of kite flying has been followed over generations in our society. Makar Sankranti is marked with all fun and fervor

with people from all generations trying hands on kite flying. This year, The ICFAI University, Jaipur celebrated this festival with

immense enthusiasm. All the students and faculty members participated in kite flying and spent a good time together narrowing

the classroom boundaries. Kites, music, and delicacies added to the charm and celebration.

India Today Group Survey

ICFAI Tech School participated in India Today Group's Best Engineering College Survey 2019 conducted by Marketing and

Development Research Associates, the New Delhi based research agency. Renowned Supreme Court Advocate, Dr. J B Choudhary

visited The ICFAI University, Jaipur on 17th January 2019 regarding the same. He inspected the technical infrastructure, workshops

and laboratories along with allied facilities at the university and was extremely impressed with the same.

Workshop on GST and GST Application

An interactive session on Basic Concepts of GST and GST Software was organized with an objective to help the students be job

ready in context of GST. The session was titled "Let's Talk and Learn GST and GST App".

The contents of the workshop included:

Basic knowledge of GST and its core concepts.

Understanding of GST to enhance job readiness or establishing GST Compliance Practice

Introduction to GST Software and how technology helps to be GST Ready

This session was conducted by CA Manish Balani and Dr Jitendra Rathore. It was a collaborative endeavour of IBS Jaipur and

KDK Softwares (I) Pvt. Ltd. E Certificates were awarded to 100+ MBA participants.

CA Manish Balani has worked in the fields of GST Domain, Business Strategy and Corporate Sales Alliances with reputed firms.

Dr Jitendra Rathore is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at KDK Softwares (I) Pvt Ltd, one of the leading IT companies of India

in Tax domain.

VIGAM 2019 (Farewell for MBA 2017-2019)

ICFAI Business School, Jaipur organized a grand party for MBA Batch 2017-2019.The event can rightly be

described as grand and gracious, jubilant and memorable, exuberant and exhilarating and the FLASHBACKS

came to life

VIGAM 2019 was organized on 21st January 2019. The event was graced by Mr. Sanjay Rajawat, the Guest of

Honour, Founder - Wonder Homes. Students from MBA First Year pumped in loads of energy and enthusiasm to

make the event unforgettable for their seniors from MBA Final Year.

Dignitaries including the Honorable President, Registrar and Program Heads blessed the students. The

University wishes a great life and a rewarding career to the outgoing students.

MBA Students attended Session at FICCI Rajasthan State Council

Students from MBA Second Year along with faculty mentor, Dr. Avinash Gupta attended a session on “Building

Scalable, Sustainable Skill Development Entities” organized by FICCI Rajasthan State Council, in association with

Rajasthan Skill & Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) on 23rd January 2019 at SMS Convention

Centre, Jaipur.

The session had deliberations on:

• Future Skills vis-à-vis Jobs

• Role of Government ITIs, Skill Development Centres, Skill Universities

• Skill Ecosystem- SSC View

• Best Practices

It was an exciting and enriching experience for the students.

Republic Day Celebrations

The ICFAI University Jaipur witnessed the celebration of the 70th Republic Day on the 26th January, 2019.

Students, Staff and Faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered in front of the

building. The celebration started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the President, Dr. Rajesh Kothari. Both

the President and Registrar emphasized the significance of the Indian Constitution and its inimitable features

such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the constitution.

The speeches was followed by the National Anthem, various other representations of the performances by the

students, giving a glimpse of the nation’s unity in diversity. The program ended with the message to create a

great nation through collective efforts from all individuals.

Ms. Madhusmita Chowdhury under the mentorship of Dr. Shweta Jain

successfully completed the Associate Professional in Human Resources –

International (aPHRi) certification from Human Resource Certification Institute

(HRCI).

Mr. Mahendra Pratap Singh, Mr. Paras Jain, Mr. Aditya Mudgal, Mr.

Amitoj Singh and Mr. Rajesh Singh participated in Oasis 2018 at BITS, Pilani

(27th-31st October 2018).

Mr. M. Vignesh, Mr. Kshitij Pandey and Mr. Abhishek Sharma under the

mentorship of Dr. Vishal Mathur participated in University Physics Competition,

Carroll College, Helena, Montana, USA and secured the position of Accomplished

Competitors around the globe.

Mr. Hritik Kumar Chaturvedi, Mr. Yogesh Sangtani and Mr. Beeram Rahul

Reddy participated in Tech Fest 2018, IIT Bombay (14th-16th December 2018).

Mr. Maddi SS Srivathsa under the mentorship of Dr. Shweta Jain

successfully completed the Associate Professional in Human Resources –

Presently, he is allied as Reviewer for International Conferences on Automation, Computational and Technology Management (ICACTM-2019) organized by Amity University, London WC, UK on April 24-26, 2019.

Placements

Like every year, IUJ Jaipur continued to enjoy immense confidence from the corporate world as substantiated by the remarkable placement season for the 2019 Batch. The institute’s unique student driven culture, corporate engagement model and planned academic rigour have consistently resulted in a significant increase in the competency levels of the students. The quality of our students as well as the tremendous support provided by the Institute administration, academic units, faculty and staff, alumni, companies and other well-wishers, contributed to the success of the

Endeavour’s towards placements. Like previous years, recruiters appreciated the domain knowledge and training imparted to our students. This all has been possible due to the combined efforts of the Placement Office including the student placement team and the excellent academic system and opportunities for all-round development. These attributes have also made IUJ a preferred destination for students across the country and recruiters from across the globe. This year witnessed several new organizations visiting IUJ for the first time and efforts shall be required to foster long-term relationship with all these organizations in near future. Judging from the increased corporate

competitiveness, heightened student aspirations, a rapidly changing job market and an increasingly insecure global economy, it is clear that campus placements will be more intensely sought by both students and companies. The highest CTC (Rs. 17.30L) is offered by “Khimji Ramdas Group”, Oman. We are hopeful that we will meet out the expectations of all the students by the end of the placement session.

Guest Lectures

A webinar on the topic, "Positive Job Performance - Is it Summation of Eligibility and Suitability Factors?" was organized by IBS Jaipur for MBA students aspiring for knowledge and career opportunities in Human Resource domain. The resource person, Mr. Dhrubajyoti Majumdar, Cluster

Head – HR (East), Larsen & Toubro Limited – Construction (B&F), Kolkata addressed the students and

responded to their queries. The session was a unique learning experience for the students. An interactive session on “Demystifying Stock Markets” was organized for MBA students at IBS Jaipur.

The resource person Ms. Kiranjeet Kaur, Director - Business Development, TrakInvest, India addressed the students and helped them understand and appreciate the nitty-gritties of Stock Markets with a different perspective.

An Industry Institute Interaction Session facilitated by Mr. Yash Kalra, MD - The Kalra Group was

organized by Icfai Tech School.

Students of ICFAI University Jaipur have carved their names as champions across various sports events

and tournaments at intercollege level. Under the coaching and mentoring of Sports Officer - Dr. Vishnu

Choudhary, the students participated in various sports tournaments and were declared winners in many
