That Man is You resumes Tuesday, January 5th.

Please kneel down after Mass and pray Three Hail Mary’s

for the next person who dies from our parish.

With Blessed Mother Mary, we pray that God fill our hearts

to be like hers (some of the BVM litany invocations)

Holy Mother of God,

Holy Virgin of virgins,

Mother of Christ,

Mother of divine grace,

Mother most pure,

Mother most chaste,

Mother inviolate,

Mother undefiled,

Mother most amiable,

Mother most admirable,

Mother of good counsel,

Mother of our Creator,

Mother of our Savior,

Virgin most prudent,

Virgin most venerable,

Virgin most renowned,

Virgin most powerful,

Virgin most merciful,

Virgin most faithful,

Mirror of justice,

Seat of wisdom,

Cause of our joy,

Spiritual vessel,

With St. Joseph, we desire that our actions be virtuous like

his: O good Saint Joseph, help us to be like you, gentle to

those whose weakness leans on us; help us to give to

those who seek our aid, succor that they may journey un-

afraid. Give us your faith, that we may see the right shin-

ing above the victories of might. Give us your hope, that

we may stand secure, untouched by doubting, steadfast

to endure. Give us your love, that as the years increase,

an understanding heart may bring us peace. Give us your

purity, that the hour of death finds us untouched by evil’s

breath. Give us your love of labor, that we shirk no lot in

life that calls us for honest work. Give us your love of

poverty, so that we live contented, let wealth come or go.

Give us your courage, that we may be strong; give us your

meekness to confess our sins. Give us your patience, that

we may possess the kingdom of our souls without

distress. Help us dear Saint to live, that when life ends we

pass with you to Jesus and His friends. O Glorious Saint

Joseph, hear our prayers and obtain our petitions. Amen.

St. Padre Pio Christmas meditation: Far into the night, at the cold-est time of the year, in a chilly grotto, more suitable for a flock of beasts than for humans, the promised Messiah – Jesus – the savior of mankind, comes into the world in the fullness of time. There are none who clamor around him: only an ox and an ass lending their warmth to the newborn infant; with a humble woman, and a poor and tired man, in adoration beside him. […] He had been expected for forty centuries; with longing sighs the ancient Fathers had im-plored his arrival. The sacred scriptures clearly prophesy the time and the place of his birth, and yet the world is silent and no one seems aware of the great event. Only some shepherds, who had been busy watching over their sheep in the meadows, come to visit him. Heavenly visitors had alerted them to the wondrous event, inviting them to approach his cave. The heavenly babe suffers and cries in the crib so that for us suffering would be sweet, meritorious and accepted. He deprives himself of everything, in order that we may learn from him the renunciation of worldly goods and com-forts. He is satisfied with humble and poor adorers, to encourage us to love poverty, and to prefer the company of the little and simple rather than the great ones of the world.
