My dear Parishioners,

This last Sunday of 2015 provides me with the opportunity

to express my gratitude to all of you for your involvement

and support of our parish during the past year. The new

construction now nearing completion has required sacrifices

of us all and I appreciate your patience and cooperation over

these past several months. I am hopeful that we will be us-

ing the new space before the end of January.

I also want to thank all who have been involved in our vari-

ous ministries and service groups. I deeply appreciate your

commitment so evident by the smoothness with which eve-

rything is ordinarily carried out. So much good is accom-

plished when collaboration is the norm and communication

lines are kept open. While I hesitate to single out particular

groups, I do want to acknowledge the work of two groups

for their unassuming service: the funeral teams— adult serv-

ers and hospitality ministers—m and the money counters.

Both are outstanding. The former, by the way they repre-

sent us to the public so well during our funeral services; and

the latter, by their professionalism in carrying out their re-

sponsibilities as our accountants. The Archdiocesan auditor,

who visited us recently, was particularly impressed by the

way they fulfilled their duties. I know you join me in thank-

ing them. But, be aware, I take no group for granted. I

know that you serve because you believe that this is what

the Lord is asking of you at this particular time of your life.

Attitude makes all the difference in the world. As I thank

each and everyone, I also encourage you to continue the

good work the Lord has begun in you, carrying it with vigor

into the New Year of 2016. —- Fr. Jerome, C.P.

REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS

EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY

On December 8th, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Pope

Francis opened the Holy Year Door at St. Peter’s Basilica in

Rome and symbolically led the gathered

assembly into this wonderful New Year of Mercy.

St. Paul of the Cross Parish will be taking part in this Holy

Year of Mercy. Look for announcements in this Bulletin dur-

ing the year. Meanwhile, there are many special Holy Year of

Mercy flyers and prayer cards on the table at the rear of the

church. Be sure to take your pick and learn more about the

meaning of this special Holy Year. Our Holy Father has com-

posed a beautiful pray for the Holy Year of Mercy. It may be

found on the card bearing his picture on the front.

Why not pray it every day?

This 2016 brings joy, peace and happiness to you and your family..

bienaventuranzas de Mateo: “dichosos los pobres de espíritu”;

Una vida honrada, nos marca un estilo de vida en el que las personas son consideradas por en-cima de cualquier bien material;

Una vez mas, MUY FELIZ NAVIDAD Y PROSPERO AN O NUEVO!
