Colored Methodist Episcopal Church (Now the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as the C.M.E. Church)

O The college was named after Bishop William H. Miles

Bishop William H. Miles

A First . . .O Williams Hall became the first college building completed on the campus in 1907

O Williams Hall was named after Bishop R.R. Williams, the presiding CME bishop in

AlabamaO It has served as the administration building, the women’s dormitory and the

home of the economics classes.O Williams Hall is currently closed and

awaiting renovations
