If you are hunting for a job in Colorado Springs, you are in luck. A veteran company,

Entegris, is creating a new facility, and along with it, one hundred new jobs will be cre-

ated. The Economic Development Corporation made the announcement this morning

at the Antlers Hilton Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. Entegris is a technology

manufacturing company that supplies the semiconductor industry. Their new facility

will be their advanced technology manufacturing plant. Specifically, they will produce

450 mm semiconductor wafer handling products, which will support the industry’s

move from 300 mm wafers, and Extreme Ultraviolet Light (EUV) reticle pods. |

2,000 Jobs for China

HSBC Holdings PLC said Tuesday it plans to hire at least 2,000 people in mainland

China and Singapore over the next five years, as the U.K.-based banking giant contin-

ues its expansion in the Asian-Pacific region, the fastest-growing part of its business.

The bank, which moved its chief executive’s office to Hong Kong from London in 2010,

said it will add at least 200 staff in China annually until 2016, as well as another 1,000

people in Singapore over that time. HSBC said it would add staff across the board, and

45,000 Jobs for India

NEW DELHI: Faced with human resource crunch public sector banks are planning to hire about 45,000 personnel during 2011-12 to meet workforce requirement. “Approximately 45,000 officers and staff would be recruited by (nationalised) banks this year,” Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) director, M Balachandran told media. The institute, promoted by PSU banks and the Reserve Bank of India, has been providing assistance to these organisations in selection, promotion and placement of employees since 1984. A large number of employment opportunities have emerged in the banking sector owing to branch expansion by various lenders, business growth and aggressive marketing, he said.

Netflix is Staffing Up!

Netflix is staffing up for a big European push as soon as the second half of 2011. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said back in December that the company would consider expand-ing to Europe and Asia once the results of its Canadian operation, which it launched last fall, became clear. Several weeks ago, Endgadget noticed that Netflix was hiring multilingual specialists for its customer support center in Oregon. 18,000 Jobs for Asia Pacific

Hiring in the Asia-Pacific cleantech industry is seeing an upturn as the market contin-ues to enjoy strong growth, note recruiters, who add that Singapore’s push and invest-ment in the sector, in particular, make it appealing to both employers and jobseekers. Russell Otter, head of Kelly Engineering Resources division at recruitment agency Kelly Services, told ZDNet Asia that the Singapore government’s support including plans by the Economic Development Board (EDB) to provide 18,000 “green collar” jobs by 2015 are signs that the industry is “on the rise” and becoming a “booming

700 Jobs for Mozambique

The construction of an international airport in the northern Mozambican port of

Nacala will create a total of 700 jobs, according to the official government spokesper-

son, Deputy Justice Minister Alberto Nkutumula. The new airport is the modernization

of what was once the Nacala military air base. The work includes the construction of

passenger and cargo terminals, and a new control tower, and resurfacing the runway.

Of the 700 workers involved in the construction phase only 50 will foreigners. They will

be from Brazil, the partner country in implementing the project. Once construction is

complete the airport will need 100 employees for its normal operations. |

270 Jobs for South Australia

Eleven South Australian manufacturers have received a share of $6.1 million in govern-ment grants that will reportedly create more than 270 new jobs for the region. One manufacturer, SMR Automotive, will be able to expand into the medical devices market thanks to the grant, which will create an extra 37 jobs at the company. SMR Automo-tive manufactures rear-view mirrors for cars. The grant is part of a joint investment in the area from the federal and state governments, called the South Australia Innovation and Investment Fund, of about $22.5 million. 600 Jobs for Dubai

Low-cost carrier flydubai said on Wednesday that it will hire 600 pilots over the next five years as it expands its fleet and adds new routes. The Dubai-based carrier, which already has over 200 pilots, will recruit another 600 by 2016, its chief executive officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said in an emailed statement. The airline currently operates a fleet of 16 Boeing (BA.N) 737-800 NG aircraft.
