A lot has happened in Kensington since the launch of thelast directory in 2004. We now have a new CommunitySports Centre, the Life Bank offering nursery provision andconference facilities as well as the City Academy.
Through investment in these and other projects KensingtonRegeneration is driving the New Deal programme forwardto improve the lives of all the residents in the area.

Friends of Williamson’sTunnels GroupFriends of Williamson’s Tunnels Group has1,300 members and is thought to be thelargest voluntary tunnels group in Europe,if not the world. Merseyside Regional ChineseAssociation (MRCA)The MRCA was set up in 2005 to promoteharmonious relations between theChinese and other ethnic minority residentson Merseyside and the rest of thelocal population.

Action Youth& Community CentreThe centre is open to young people agedbetween 10 and 25, the unemployed andpensioners. There are a range of indoor andoutdoor sporting activities which include:rock climbing, pool, table tennis, bowlingand basketball.

Alghazali Centre andYouth ClubThe organisation has developed over 13 yearsin Toxteth, providing educational activities toMuslim children and young people retainingcultural heritage and identity andArabic language.

Edge Hill Youth ClubThis youth club caters for all ages and isdedicated to providing more than just a placefor youngsters to go and play football. Available to residents in the Kensington New Dealfor Communities area, JET provides advice on arange of topics including interview techniques,how to write a successful CV and applicationform and also search for suitable education andtraining courses which will help people to learnrelevant and interesting new skills.
For unemployed KNDC residents JET may alsobe able to pay for work based training courses,childcare, work clothes and equipment andtravel for first month in work.
