Sustainability Employment

• Sustainability Employment is used to pay students for their time spent promoting campus sustainability. Some examples of projects include:– Reducing junk mail– Setting up an environmental art show– Researching recycling signage– Recording outdoor illuminescence – Calculating air miles for faculty and staff– Researching composting options

Green Fee Mini-Grants

• Green Fee Mini-Grants can provide up to $500 for a project that will promote campus sustainability. Some examples of student projects: – Purchasing cloth bags– Constructing wood duck houses– Awards for an energy-saving competition– Habitat for Humanity, Women Build– Cell phone drive– Sattgast Aquarium project– Reusable bowls for the Festival of Nations

Bus stop shelters• Recommendation from Student Senate to increase ridership on local transit• Partnership between Physical Plant, Sustainability Office, and Paul Bunyan Transit• Two new shelters installed September, 2010• One installed with a solar photovoltaic LED lighting system
