The recital gives each student a chance to shine in front of family and friends! Each recital is treated as a professional performance that allows the students to present the results of a year’s hard work. I know the recital can be hectic, but having these rules and guidelines will

help make things run smoothly for you and for us. Please read this packet thoroughly and mark your calendar with all of these very important dates/deadlines.

DUE NOW THROUGH FEBRUARY 28TH Costumes will be arriving now through April. You can find out what

costumes have arrived on the sign posted by the office window. Costume Balances are due by Thursday, February 28th, 2019. Your costume balance is posted on your account and has been emailed to you. Once your child

brings home her/his costume, please take the costume out of the bag immediately and place it on a hanger. To ensure that there are no costume problems, students should not wear their costume until

necessary.

DUE NOW THROUGH FEBRUARY 28TH All students must have their required tights for picture week, dress rehearsal and the

shows. Your order form and payment must be turned in to the office by

Thursday, February 28th, 2019. Tights will be distributed in April to students

in their classes. Please do not miss the deadline--have your order form and money

handed in on time. *Please note the Revolution brand tights can only be purchased at Expression of Dance. Please do not wear your recital

tights before picture week. Save them for picture week and the shows.

RECITAL T-SHIRT ORDER DUE NOW THROUGH MARCH 21ST

Every year we have a special t-shirt made for the students to wear during the rehearsals, over their costumes, and/or after the shows. The 2019

recital theme logo will appear on the front of the t-shirt and all the students’ names on the back! There will be very few extra shirts ordered,

so you will need to place your order on time. Your order form and payment must be turned in to the office by Thursday, March 21st, 2019.

PROOF – please make sure you have proofed the list of cast names on the studio bulletin board to ensure your child's name is listed and spelled

correctly.

í YOU MUST SIGN UP ON THE STUDIO BULLETIN BOARD BY THURSDAY, APRIL 4TH TO RECEIVE YOUR AWARD. If this is your 5th, 10th or 15th recital at EOD, you will be recognized at the beginning of the matinee recital show of your choice.

DUE NOW THROUGH MARCH 21ST Almost every class will have their recital song edited or cut. In order for your daughter/son to practice at home, you should order recital music. The teachers thank you in advance for ordering their recital music and

Students who are receiving an award need to be in their assigned dressing room by 12:15pm.

When receiving your award you may wear a dress or nice street clothes. If you need to wear your costume, it must be completely covered.

If family/friends would like to see the awards ceremony, they will need a ticket to enter the auditorium - even if they are only watching the dedication awards.

TICKET MINIMUM/MAXIMUMS & COSTS: The recital brings many expenses (lighting, auditorium rental, scenery, sound, security, janitors, props, etc.). Under the topic of Rules & Procedures on our website, it states that you are required to purchase recital tickets. • You must purchase a minimum of 3 tickets and up to a maximum of 15 tickets, per account/family, not per student. For example,

if you have two children performing, the minimum and maximum is still 3 and 15, not 6 and 30 tickets. o Each performer will receive one complimentary ticket to one show of their choice. This ticket will be marked "student" and

can only be used by the student. This means "one" ticket per student whether the student is performing in 2 or 4 shows. § Please indicate which show your child would like her/his ticket for, in the space provided on the recital ticket order form. § This ticket is included in the maximum amount of tickets you are allotted (15). Your total ticket order may not exceed 15

tickets. However, this ticket is not included in your minimum amount of tickets you are required to purchase (You will purchase at least 3 tickets, plus the student ticket).

§ If your daughter/son would like to see more than one show, you will need to purchase additional tickets for them. • The cost of each ticket is $14.00. *If your child would like to see the show before or after their performance, they will need a

ticket. There is no parent supervision in the dressing rooms when they are done performing. Someone will need to pick up your son/daughter when they are done on stage.

• If you are only staying to see one number, you will need a ticket. • No one will be permitted in the auditorium without a ticket and there is NO STANDING due to the School District’s fire code. • Children age 2 and under do not need a ticket, however they are not permitted to occupy a seat.

*Since your child will be performing in at least 2 shows, if you see your child perform in the first show and you do not want to watch the second show, you may wait in the lobby or in the dressing room while your child is performing, or you can sign up to be a backstage mom and you will be able to see her/him perform from the side of the stage. Remember, even if you want to watch only one number, you will need to purchase a ticket. VERY IMPORTANT: • Each show will have a different color ticket. You may use your ticket only for the date/show printed on that ticket.

For example: If you purchase a ticket for the Friday show, you cannot use it to see Saturday’s show. Please note, tickets are numbered, but do not correspond to a seat in the auditorium.

• Seating is first come, first serve. There is NO SAVING SEATS. You may save a seat for your child and a mom who is volunteering backstage, but please do not to save half a row of seats for family that has not arrived yet. Please advise family/friends to arrive early so you can all enter and sit together at the same time. If we see seats being saved, the EOD ushers will address this and those seats will be made available for the people who are present.

AUDITORIUM DOORS - The auditorium doors will only open approximately every 4 numbers (the door openings will be noted in your recital program). This is to alleviate distraction during numbers for many who are here to see the entire show and to keep the show running. For example, you will remain seated during performances 1-4. Then, the doors will open for approximately 2 minutes for guests to leave and come in after number 4, but will close before number 5. The doors will remain closed again for numbers 5-8 and then open after number 8, but close again before number 9, and so on. The show is approximately 2 ½ hours long including a 15-minute intermission between Part I & Part II. USHERS/SEATING - Ushers will be in the front and back sections of the auditorium to help accommodate everyone with seating. The seats in the front sections are recommended for people who are watching the entire show. Parents that plan on helping their daughter/son change costumes or students who are in multiple numbers are encouraged to find seating towards the back of the auditorium or by an aisle. We will also have ushers at ALL doors, including the handicap accessible entrance into the upper section of the auditorium. Those of you using those doors to get to the uppermost seats will need to show your ticket every time you enter. This will be strictly enforced.

Please note the following: There are two different shows on Saturday and the Student Ticket column. *The recital lineup is posted on the studio bulletin board. Each class has an A or B indicated next to each class indicating which recital shows the class is performing in. If there is no letter listed, that class will be performing in all 4 shows.

Please note that you do not have to order all your required tickets for one show. You may divide them up any way you choose. Please plan ahead with your family so we do not have to change your ticket order. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

If you need more than 15 tickets, they will go on sale, cash only, beginning Monday, May 6th at 4pm.

Each performer will receive one complimentary ticket to the show of their choice. Please check which show in the box below for your child’s free ticket.

Tickets are $14.00 each and payment is due in full at the time your order is placed. Your ticket order will be available for pick up, by a parent or guardian, beginning Monday, May 6th after 4pm, as long as your account is paid in full.
