How Happiness Happens By Max Lucado

There’s a Path to Happiness That Always Delivers!

Our culture tries to convince us there is one way to happiness: aspire, acquire, desire, retire. Happiness depends on what we hang in our closet, park in our garage, and deposit in our bank account. Yet, it’s a path that always fails to deliver. In this video Bible study, bestselling author Max Lucado looks at several “one another” statements in the Bible that reveal how the happiest people on earth aren’t those who have the most but those who are willing to give the most away.

God wants to bring joy to the people of this generation, and in his Word, he has given us practical and applicable ways to quarry the joy by sharing it with others. Although the world can be a lonely and disappointing place, we can be God’s representatives to bring about a cascade of kindness! While we won’t be able to solve every problem, we can bring a few smiles to a few faces—and in this way, we might even initiate our own quiet revolution of joy.

    Sessions include:

    1. Accept One Another 2. Bear with One Another

    3. Serve One Another 4. Forgive One Another

    5. Carry One Another’s Burdens 6. Love One Another

Rev. Chris – 15 year Celebration! Please join the congregation to celebrate Rev. Chris and his 15 years of spiritual ministry here at First Congregational UCC in Fort Atkinson. In 2004, Rev. Chris, wife, Delisa and son Aiden came to Fort from San Diego, CA. He has become the longest tenured pastor in the modern history of our church. We will celebrate on Sunday, November 3 immediately following the 10:00 worship service in the Burr Oak Room. We will hear words from Loren Gray and view some photos taken along the way. There is a Pastor’s Journal in the Moderator’s box in the office. Please stop in and write a favorite Rev. Chris story or scripture reflection. Thank you!

We will have 40 kids again this year. Watch for sign up sheets in the Narthex.

Communion is generally served on the first Sunday of each month. There are some occasions when we need to adjust that schedule. Our next communion will be on Sunday, November 3rd.
