Sports without Greek contribution

Many sports’ roots came from the GreeksWithout their contributions, our sports would be

undeveloped.Hockey, wrestling, foot racing, Boxing, Chariot racing,

Riding, Discus, Javelin, Jumping, and Wrestling wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the Greeks.

We would have under developed sports and no world competitions like the Olympic games

Boxing and wrestling were very dangerous because in the boxing event you can only win by killing the other person

There was an event called the pancratium where men were allowed to punch, kick, and even choke each other.

In order to win in the pancratium, you must make the other fighter surrender, lose consciousness, or die.

Conclusion

As you can see, Greeks played a major role in developing sports

The modern sports-including Olympics-wouldn’t be like it is today if it wasn’t for the contribution of the Greeks.

In our daily lives, almost everything has a trace of Greek Contributions: medicine, art, sports, theatre, and many more….
