The Great Decluttering Checklist

[ ] Start with your tops

[ ] Gather them all into one place on the oor.

[ ] Pick up each one and ask yourself if it brings you joy. If it does, keep it. If it doesn’t, thank it for its service and discard it.

[ ] Fold your tops tightly so they can be stored vertically —not stacked — in your drawers.

[ ] Set Goals. Write down what you want your life to look like. Now write down a list of everything that’s getting in your way.

[ ] Stop buying stuff. Do a 30-day spending freeze on non-essential items.

[ ] Schedule downtime. Create a sacred time each week with no — as in zero — outside commitments. Commit to rest and play at home instead.

[ ] Declu[ ] Declutter your relationships. Make a list of the people you love and like and focus your limited time and energy on those relationships rather than casual or tozic ones.

[ ] Turn off screens and go to bed early enough to ensure a full eight hours of sleep.

[ ] Imagine putting everything on the front lawn (or if you are feeling abitous, do it). What would you bring back in?

[ ] Purge something big — any unneeded or unloved furniture.

[ ] Now go shelf by shelf, drawer by drawer and pile by pile, sorting each one into trash, treasure and transfer piles.
