The Goode Legacy

Generation 1, Part 8

Previously on the Goode Legacy…

The twins grew into teens. Melchior purchased a vacation home on Twikkii Island and the family decided to visit it since the twins grew up without a birthday party.

“See, Sylvia? I told you we’d get here and enjoy ourselves,” said Melchior as he checked the family in at the Blossom Wood Hotel.

“Hmmph!” Sylvia sniffed. “It took ages to get a plane and then we found out that our vacation home was unreachable and you had to sell it back. We had to come here to this hotel instead.”

“You can make friends here instead, dear,” said Melchior. “And we’ll get another vacation home one day—one that doesn’t crash the computer when we try to go to it.”

The twins continued gossiping without any thought of their parents.

The whole family rolled wants to go on a tour, so they headed out on a glass-bottom boat tour after getting settled at the hotel.

The tour was a success!

The family stopped at the boardwalk on their way home, mostly to use the facilities.

“Hey, beautiful!”

Emily has discovered the pleasure of primping in the mirror.

Page 8: The Goode Legacy 1.8

“Whoa! Hot stuff!”

Eli appears to have found out how to primp as well. I think these guys need mirrors in their rooms when they get home. Otherwise they’ll fight over the one in the hall.

From the boardwalk the family walked down to the beach, where an old pirate ship was anchored for the tourists to explore.

Melchior immediately attacked the dummy.“Yarr! This be the perfect time to practice me swordcraft! I be playin’ a pirate king in me next film!”

“Be careful, dear!” called Sylvia from the stern.

“Dude, you can see everything from up here!” Emily cried. “This is so cool!”

Page 12: The Goode Legacy 1.8

“Aah!” Eli bolted down the steps and onto the beach, his heart pounding. He’d been poking around in the captain’s cabin when something strange had jumped out at him and nearly made him wet his pants.

“Ahharr, ye scurvy dog! Run, ye landlubber! I’ll teach ye to plunder me cabin!” Captain Edward Dregg was not pleased.

Luckily Sylvia picked up on the situation quickly. Before the ghost could float after her son, she said, “Oh, sir, he was just being curious. After all, there are such interesting rumors about all that buried treasure you plundered. Tell me about it, won’t you?”

The captain laughed. Sylvia worked her popularity sim magic and flattered and joked with the captain for nearly half an hour, giving Eli time to compose himself and get back on board the ship.

“Yarr, I suppose yer not a bad sort. I tell ye what—I’ll teach ye me old sea chanty.”

The ghost captain pulled out his accordion and Sylvia Goode became my first sim ever to learn the sea chanty.

“Wow, Mom! That was amazing!” Eli said after the ghost had vanished.

“Oh, it was nothing, sweetie. You just have to know how to talk to people. Hey!” Sylvia attempted a gesture she’d seen the locals do.

Before heading back to the hotel, the family attempted one last late night tour, a parasailing adventure.

Page 18: The Goode Legacy 1.8

It didn’t end well. Needless to say, the family slept hard that night.

Emily decided to go for a float in the pool the next morning. Her dad and brother joined her.

On their second day, the Goodes went on the only remaining tour in the options: the helicopter tour.

Page 21: The Goode Legacy 1.8

They chose the green button. They probably shouldn’t have though, because…

Page 22: The Goode Legacy 1.8

+

Ehm…oops? The Goodes spent most of the day recovering from that incident.

Sylvia and Melchior stayed at the hotel for some much needed alone time. (They did not woohoo, since they’re only allowed to try for baby and I decided they’re not having any more kids.) They had fun relaxing together and watching TV. After that disaster of a helicopter tour, it was nice to just lay still for a bit.

That evening Emily and Eli went out on their own. They ended up at the hot springs. Emily relaxed and pondered the deep meaning of the universe in the lovely warm water.

Page 25: The Goode Legacy 1.8

Eli pondered his new desire to find a girlfriend. He’d looked around a bit but hadn’t seen anyone he liked yet.

Page 26: The Goode Legacy 1.8

+

Back at the hotel, Eli found someone he liked—Melissa. He tried to impress her.

Page 27: The Goode Legacy 1.8

+

It didn’t work. Don’t worry, Eli, we’ll find you someone. You only have one bolt with Melissa anyways and she lives pretty far away. You’d only be able to talk to her on the phone until college.

Page 28: The Goode Legacy 1.8

Eli took out his frustration on his sister.

Page 29: The Goode Legacy 1.8

But Emily can give back what she gets, and she did.

“Is this really the place, guys?” Sylvia sighed.

On the last day of their vacation I remembered the secret lot. I’d like the family to get that vacation memory, so I sent Melchior out to dig. This is what he found. That’s the wrong map, Mel! Save it. We’ll use it on another trip. But no voodoo doll for you this time.

Page 31: The Goode Legacy 1.8

The vacation finally seemed to loosen Sylvia up a bit on the last day. She and Emily had a pillow fight just before they went home.

Page 32: The Goode Legacy 1.8

“Thanks for a terrific visit,” Melchior said as he checked the family out.

“Come back soon, sir,” the desk clerk replied.

Page 33: The Goode Legacy 1.8

The family headed home again.

I chose the refreshed, industrious, and productive benefits for all the Goodes. They enjoyed their vacation (except maybe that helicopter thing, and Eli didn’t like meeting the pirate ghost) and are ready to jump into the next phase of their lives, whatever that may be.
