PAGE 2 THE GOOD NEWSLETTER
Grace and Peace,
I want to thank everyone who helped out this summer with caring for
each other. The church has responded with overwhelming love. The
church has cared for the families of Jari Pulford, Pete Parish, and Alice
Fish while they have lost a loved one.
During this time of pandemic, I am called, as a priest, to visit with people
who are unable to make it to church because of physical or medical
restrictions. I often try to visit these people during the week, when
possible. I am able to bring and serve communion to their homes. This is
often a very moving experience because they have felt disconnected
with the parish during this difficult time.
Even if you do not have a physical or medical restriction I would be glad
to come and visit while observing social distancing. I enjoy visiting with
and praying with people whenever I can.
Blessings,
Fr. Joel
From the Rector

Thank you to all who continue to mail in pledges
and gifts for the Sunday Dollars Fund.
Healing Ministry at St. Tim’s
Many have been blessed by The Prayers for Healing that were
offered on Sundays at St. Tim’s. Fr. Terry will be happy to continue
one on one Prayers of Healing virtually or over the phone during this
time. If you feel the need for prayer, please call and he will pray with
and for you. (269-806-5109)
A Prayer Chain has also been formed for anyone that would
like to have a name added to the continual prayer list. If you
would like a name added to the prayer chain, please contact
the office, Fr. Joel or Fr. Terry. All prayer requests, and/or the
subject of the prayer will remain strictly confidential.
Tuesday morning Bible Study will resume beginning Tuesday,
September 8, 2020.
The Men’s Bible Study Group will meet at 8:00am at Liz’s Café in

Thank you to the following individuals for contributing produce, crafts or time to the
St. Tim’s Church table at the RACC Farmers’ Market.
Cliff Barry Terry Haughn Barb Ray
Doris Balgoyen Nick & Nancy Hotra Judy Risdon
Kate Bell Tom & Deb Howard Carolyn Schutte
Pat Butler Carolyn Kiser Suzie Tooman
Ken, Jan & Rachel Fouts Stan & Jennifer Luykx Fr. Joel & Andrew Turmo
Steve & Sue Frank Joanne Mobey Emily Wilke
Joni Green Joe Rapp
Also, thanks to Joe Rapp for use of his special table and to the Fouts family for use of
their tent.
SPECIAL THANKS to Nick and Nancy Hotra for leading this project. Their tireless
scheduling, picking up, set up, manning the table, tearing down, and dedication to
introducing and sharing St. Tim’s with the community were all amazing!
Attendance at the market each Wednesday over the last 12 weeks averaged over 300 people. So, they - plus others they may have told, know we are here.
We consider our effort a success. It was a chance, during these Covid-19 virus times, for parishioners to come together to commune and/or share their skills and talents - and make money from them, while promoting St. Timothy Church. Last Wednesday we made $127 for a total of $723 in direct deposits. This plus another $71 gives us a total of $794 for the event. The money will be used to purchase banners for the church drive.
Thank you to those participating. It was good for us to come together and accomplish something.
Nick and Nancy Hotra.

Thank you for shopping at Harding’s!
This is such an EASY way to give to St. Tim’s while you’re shopping at Harding’s for your
groceries! There is no extra cost to you. A percentage of every purchase will be donated back
to St. Tim’s. If you have registered on-line, simply enter your phone # on the keypad at checkout.
If you have not yet registered, please stop by the parish office or give Suzie a call and she can
assist you. St. Tim’s could receive hundreds of dollars each quarter, just because you entered
your phone #!! How EASY is that??
You’re shopping anyway… right??
It could not be easier to give to St. Timothy’s as we go about our daily and seasonal shopping.
You can give while shopping for groceries at Harding’s or while shopping for the gifts, books,
‘anything’ on amazonSmiles.com. Suzie will be happy to help you sign up during parish office hours.
Consider On-Line Shopping at amazonSmiles.com
An additional opportunity to give to St. Tim’s while shopping is by registering for AmazonSmiles.

reduced pricing from AmazonSmiles.com not only when you purchase books, clothing, gift cards or
furniture, but also the opportunity to pre-purchase for many restaurants in the Kalamazoo area at a
great discount. A percentage of every purchase will be designated to St. Tim’s. You will not receive
the rewards if you use the regular amazon.com site. … You will be gifting to St. Tim’s general fund at
no extra cost to you! If you need help signing up at this site, let Suzie know and she’ll be happy to
help you.
