Objectives

1. To Make Glenfir School a leading “Green School” by:

- By decreasing our Food footprint through organic gardening, composting, and education,

- By protecting and restoring the natural habitat of our schoolyard,

- By making Glenfir More Energy Efficient through lighting solutions

2. To create awareness of and promote sustainability in our

community.

Experience So Far

We have learned so much in the past year and this experience has been invaluable. We have learned the importance of local agriculture, regular composting, and native species. We have discovered how much our school uses on energy and we have investigated ways on reducing it and our footprint. We have learned more about the importance of environmental education and the importance of respecting our one and only home. So far, this has been a great learning experience, and we hope to create more environmental change!

“Take the first step in faith, you don’t have to see the full staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr.
