The Glen Gazette Riley’s Report
Maple Glen families, The generosity from our community in support of Hurricane Harvey relief was phenomenal. Maple Glen collected over $1,400, and the six elementary schools combined sent $10,931.41 to the American Red Cross. Just a wonderful outpouring of support for the devastated areas. Thank you! I would also like to invite everyone to our PTO meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening at 6:30 in the library. We have already been working together on a lot of things this year and are looking forward to work together to support our students through the work of our PTO. Next week will be a busy week with Homecoming and Healthy Living Day! We will have a spirit week next week for Homecoming so be sure to look at the attached flyer for the Maple Glen spirit days. Maple Glen will also have a float in the parade on Thursday evening. Come out and enjoy our Hall of Fame theme float. Healthy Living Day on Friday will be a great celebration of all of the hard work our students have put into fundraising for our school. Right now, the weather looks great for an afternoon outdoors and the PTO has planned a wonderful morning of healthy living rotations. Have a wonderful weekend, Mrs. Mary Beth Riley, principal

Cafeteria Reminder!
Parents, it is great to see so many parents and guests come to eat lunch with their child. Just a couple reminders about your time when you come into the cafeteria:
Students are allowed to choose 1 or 2 friends to join you at the guest table.
Students still have the same expected behav-iors to stay in their seat and talk to those at their table. Please make sure they listen for their class to be called for seconds (2-4) or for throwing trash away and handwashing.
Guest tables are along the glass windows. If they are full, you are welcome to overflow to the empty tables, or you may join your child at a class table. Please avoid the Peanut Free table.
If you bring outside food, you can only bring food for your child.
Thank you, and enjoy!
If you have transportation changes for the afternoon,
please send a note with your child in the morning or call the office at 896-4711 by 2:30pm.
This is very important to us so we ensure that your child
gets to the correct location at the end of the day.
Parent Pick up and Drop off
Thank you for everyone's patience as we altered our parent pick-up procedures this week and are
still getting used to new faces and new cars. A few reminders:
If you need to take your child to an appointment at the end of the day, please plan to sign them out of the office rather than walking up to the parent pick-up line.
If your student is not ready at the parent pick-up line, we'll ask that you pull forward and put your flashers on. This will signal to other cars that they may drive around you. If possible, we also ask that you pull up to the crosswalk to finish buckling car seats.
If you need a yellow sign for your car, please call the office to make one at 317-896-4711.
