We are so very proud of all of our high school and college graduates. Please
keep them in your prayers as they begin college or new careers.
You have loved Me may be in
them, and I in them.” – John 17:1-5, 24, 26
The Apostle John, “the one
whom Jesus loved,” has written
down for us these words of Jesus’ prayer after The Last Supper, so
that we might see more clearly the
very Heart of God for us, and the
incredible reality of God with us.
Three Truths jump out to me:
#1 Only the Christian God offers prayers FOR His people, as
we see Jesus, God the Son pour-
ing out His heart in prayer to God
the Father on our behalf (v.24).
#2 Only in Christianity does
eternal life start NOW for God’s people, in our present lives, and
carry on into eternity. Jesus says
that the essence of eternal life is
“to know God the Father and
Jesus” (v.3). Notice this is more than merely knowing facts about
God, it involves knowing The
Living God in a personal relation-
ship.
#3 Only The Christian God could experience love before
Creation, because He existed as a
Trinitarian Community of love and
glory from eternity past. Every
other “god” must create something else to love, and is therefore a
needy “god” who creates to get
love from us. The Christian God
created to share His love with us
and to invite us into the love He
has been experiencing within Himself from eternity past as God
The Father, God The Son, and
God The Holy Spirit (v.24 & v.26).
May The Holy Spirit give us
ears to hear Jesus continuing to pray for us (Heb 7:25), eyes to see
Jesus’ glory all around us, and
hearts to experience The Father’s
love for Jesus flowing through us
into the lives of others. See you
Sunday! –Josh
When Jesus had spoken these
Words, He lifted up His Eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, THE
HOUR has come; glorify Your
Son that The Son may glorify
You, since You have given Him
authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom You
have given Him. And THIS is
eternal life, that they know You
The Only True God, and Jesus
Christ Whom You have sent. I
glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work that You
gave Me to do. And now, Father,
glorify Me in Your Own Presence
with the glory that I had with
You before the world existed…Father, I desire that they also,
whom You have given Me, may
be with Me where I Am, to see
My glory that You have given Me
because You loved Me before the
foundation of the world… I made known to them Your Name, and
I will continue to make it
known, that the love with which

First Touch Ministries:
9:15 AM Sunday—School Schedule for Teachers/Helpers:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He
is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to re-
pentance.” —2 Peter 3:9
Preschool version: God is patient, and He wants everyone to repent.”
Our lesson for this Sunday takes us back into the Old Testament, 2 Kings, with the story of Elisha
helping a widow. The emphasis is that Jesus cares for us.
Please look over the items needed for VBS. It’s just a few weeks away! July 14-19 we will delve into
how very much Jesus loves us as we travel to SONTREASURE ISLAND and study 1 Corinthians 13.
Let me know if you want to come with us!
I love you! Hope to see you Sunday! —Mrs. Jackie
