Thank you for participating in our first Virtual Conference!More than 130 Downtown Development professionals attended the first everVirtual Downtown Conference on September 29-30. If you were registered for

the conference, you may go back into the conference website and view thesessions that you missed. Just go to the schedule, click on the session you’dlike to view and look under additional resources to see the session video and

any supporting documentation. Speakers for our Opening and Closing sessionswould not allow us to tape their presentations. Introducing the Downtown Edge Scholarship

The Georgia Downtown Association's Tribute to Adam EdgeA beloved friend, colleague and leader.

Created in honor of Adam Edge, a past Georgia Downtown Association (GDA)board member and downtown development professional of the highest quality,the Downtown Edge Scholarship was established to support the participation ofdowntown development professionals in statewide training opportunities. Adam

was known for his commitment to growing as a leader and building strongfriendships with fellow professionals. Engaging in professional developmentopportunities helps honor his legacy and adds a leadership edge to ongoing

work in downtowns. GDA will annually provide $1,500 in matching scholarshipsto deserving downtown professionals to cover up to 50% of the costs forqualified training opportunities in Georgia. In order to be eligible for the

scholarship an individual must be a local downtown development professionalwho is an active GDA member. The scholarship will take the form of

reimbursement for training registration and lodging costs associated with thetraining, with a maximum reimbursement of $350. Payment of any other

expenses is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.

information regarding the common practices, rules, regulations, expectations,values and core beliefs of Georgia’s successful downtown programs. The

Georgia Downtown Association’s Professional Mentoring Program provides apeer-to-peer mentoring opportunity designed to support newly engaged

downtown professionals.

A virtual session to recognize 2019-2020 participants in the Mentor/Menteeprogram and to encourage other interested Downtown Development

Georgia Main Street Celebrates 40 years!

The Georgia Main Street Program began in 1980 as one of the original pilotstate coordinating programs of the National Main Street Initiative launched bythe National Trust for Historic Preservation. The program launched with five

local communities and has grown to serve 100+ communities statewide.Georgia Main Streets represent some of the strongest central business districts

in the state and in the Southeast. Congratulations!

The Georgia Main Street Innovation Grant Program will provide five GeorgiaMain Street Programs ***$10,000 each *** to help fund innovative revitalizationefforts to address the current and/or legacy impacts of COVID-19. The programis open to all Georgia Main Street designated communities that have an active

Main Street America membership.To be eligible, entrants must complete the entire application and review theprogram terms and conditions. We are taking applications through Friday,

October 16 at midnight. This entire collaboration has been made possiblebecause of the hard work from the National Main Street Center. Since this istheir brain child, they will be taking the lead on this project. If you have any

serving on the submission review panel, but the applications will all be runningthrough the National Main Street Center's office.

Georgia Main Street has launched their new DDA 101Online Training resource you won't want to miss!

Downtown Development Authority Trainingsponsored by GMA and CVIOG, November 17-18.This live, interactive online-training class will be heldover two days, from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. each day.Those eligible for training certificates will receive sixhours of credit towards a certificate upon successfulcompletion of the class.
